Chapter Twenty-Four
The Crain House Pt. 2
The Pogues plus Sarah were in the Twinkie on the way to the Crain house. Stella was beyond nervous but she was also excited. She wanted to find that stupid gold.
"All right, you guys got the rope?" John B asked.
"Got it," Pope and Stella said in unison and blushing after.
JJ glared at them, "you two need to stop hanging out. That's getting really freaky."
John B rolled his eyes before continuing his list. "Grappling hook?"
"We don't have a grappling hook. We're not Batman," Pope said as John B scoffed in annoyance.
"Whatever. Pulley?"
"Check," Kiara said as she pointed to in the back.
"Dark clothes?"
"Got it," Sarah called out as she passed a black hoodie to Stella who was wearing a bright pink shirt.
"Flashlights?"
"Check!" JJ called out and held them up happily.
"All right, good," John B said as he pulled over in front of the house. "We're ready."
"Let's go," Kiara said as she opened the side door to let everyone out.
"Let's go get rich, guys," JJ muttered with a laugh.
"And, let's not get killed," Stella reminded the group. "We are technically trespassing so..."
Pope nodded his head and wrapped an arm around her shoulders. "Stel is right. We need to be careful."
John B opened the trunk and everyone was about to grab the supplies when he stopped them. "Wait, wait, wait. I wanna say thank you, guys. Seriously."
Stella furrowed her brows in confusion and looked to Sarah who was equally confused.
"It means a lot to me that you're here tonight."
Kiara smiled and rolled her eyes, "always."
"Of course, man," Pope whispered as him and John B did their little handshake.
"All right, we done with the circle jerk? Can we go do this?" JJ asked and it made Stella laugh.
"Let's go, kids!" She said and led the way to the entrance.
"Let's go get that wheat in water," Pope said as he quickly followed behind Stella.
"Weed? I'm up for weed," JJ said excitedly.
"Wheat, I said wheat."
The group climbed over the fence and walked to the front of the house. Stella was about to move closer but all of a sudden the porch light went on.
"Shit!" Sarah gasped as everyone ducked behind a random bush.
"Flashlights," Kiara called out as everyone turned off their flashlights.
