Character POV: Ariadne
We're in the car driving from the airport to the club, and I find my mind wandering. Memories from the past seem to be a driving factor for my actions anymore, which is a royal pain in my ass. But there we are, aren't we? I've been a royal pain in the ass for pretty much everyone around me for centuries. It's the whims of the universe trying to make me have a taste of my own medicine.
I stare out of the window of the car, the tall pines at the side of the road reminding me so much of the forest that surrounded my home back with the Iceni many centuries ago. But, whenever I think about the Iceni, I think about how it all ended. And that takes me back, back to the last time I was there.
