Present Day

Character POV: Ariadne

I come back to the present as we pull off the road and into the parking lot of the club. The sun has only just set as we pull into a spot. My ass is killing me from all the time I've spent sitting down. I wince as I push the door open and rise to my full height, putting a hand on my lower back and trying to rub out the pain. A lingering feeling of sadness follows that memory, as it always does. I respected Boudicca and her indomitable spirit. Still, I've never had trouble living with myself when it comes to her because I have done everything in my power to be there for Roxanne, to watch out for her. But I did get angry and step away when she chose Analize, and I curse myself for it daily, especially when I saw how inebriated Roxanne was when she came to rescue the sexist asshole.

All I can do is resolve to do better, right? And while I'm doing better, I'm going to wreak holy havoc and have a helluva fun time. Who says you can't do both things at once, that you cannot have your cake and eat it too. I intend to revel in every minute while I bring Drusilla's empire crashing down around her, burning it to ashes like Boudicca once did Londonium. I smile to myself at the thought, the razed earth, Drusilla's body vaporized to ash that falls like a sickening snow. Ah, I almost sigh in ecstasy at the thought, but I don't. There's too much work to do, but I have a goal in mind at least!

Right as I reach the door, it is propped open by Sita. She stands there, her back pressed against the glass of the door as she crosses her arms over her body and smiles at me. "So, how'd the trip go?" She asks, flashing a fanged smile at me as she says, "Did you eat that little milkshake?"

I smirk at her as I say, "No, he'd gone rancid. But I did send a message, which was the most important thing. Let's get inside. We have a lot to discuss." I nod towards the interior of the club. Sita nods, stepping through the door, the current dress she's wearing accentuating her curvy body style and making her look more beautiful. I can see the appeal in her, what surface level qualities Roxanne would have gone for, but I push it from my mind as I hold the door open for Zebulun, hearing the car "beep" as it locks. He walks around the front of the car, stepping towards Sita and I as I say, "If I know Roxanne, which all of the evidence from the past day goes to show that I do, then I know enough to guess that we'll have some company soon." I shoot Zebulun a brilliant smile as I say, "Best get the place spiffied up." When I'm half-way through the door, I turn my head and say over my shoulder on second thought, "And hide the booze."
