Life on a Farm

Is not as easy as it sounds

The creatures of the night

Steal, kill, destroy

Crimson liquid flows through

The lives under your protection

These dark creatures

Hide in plain sight.

Each one mocking

Each one cackling

Each one stuck in the cycle

Death.

Fountains of roses

 flow from the lives

Taken too soon

The only witness; the moon

How can I protect my flock

How can I protect my herd

What will the repercussion be to save

The lives under my protection.

The way to protect them

Is not as easy as it sounds.
