Life and Lemons
Life is like lemons.
Sour and tart.
Mixed with sugar
diluted with water
Pleasant to have and be a part.
But they are never the same, the lemons
I mean.
Each lemon has its unique flavor.
A different texture.
A different journey.
A different color.
Some are pink,
Others yellow.
But in the end they all make the same thing.
However, the journey of the lemon
Dictates the taste.
If it is a gentle journey
the more sweet.
If the journey is sunny
the tarter.
And if the journey is rough and hard
the more sour the lemon becomes.
This dictates how much sugar is added.
If the lemon is sweet then little sugar is added.
When the lemon is tart four tablespoons.
But when the lemon is sour a cup is needed.
Now that there is sugar, water needs to be measured.
The sweet lemon only needs a small cup of water.
As it is only enough for one person to drink.
The tart lemon needs a quart of water.
As it was enough flavor for eight people.
The sour lemon, requires a gallon of water, refreshing thirty-two.
