Chapter 8: Jack of All Trades

I loved it when 404 said "It's 404'n time!" and 404'd all over everyone. One of the moments of all time!

==Chapter Start==

Dr. Roman: "So, as you have heard, you'll be with the young master, to Ancient Rome. You will not believe how many times we had the other servants tie down Nero. when we first announced that."

404: "With how she acts, I can believe it."

404 then looked ahead and saw Gudako, Gudao, and Mashu, again, being a little trio of serious, serious, and goofball.

404: "So, what exactly are we doing?"

Dr. Roman: "You're going to hunt for Holy Grails. If we got those, the singularities should stop and the time period should return to normal. After that, things should repair themselves and we move on to the next singularity to fix any other problems."

404: "I see."

Just as 404 thought, this would be a waste of time. But then again, seeing how Gudao and Gudako are in battle, perhaps he can evaluate whether or not they are worthy of being called masters.

Gudako: "It's you!"

She lept at 404, who dodged and grabbed the collar of her shirt, picking her back up as she giggled.

Gudako: "If it's with you, this'll be easy!"

404: "Don't rely too much on me. I'm not a cheat (yes I am)."

Gudako: "Aw.."

Gudao sighed once more before getting his sister, dragging her away as 404 looked around. There seemed to be a more petite female servant, yet, he could feel something much more. This was no ordinary being, no, they were something composed of suffering. She was a wraith, more specifically, the embodiment of agony by the souls of thousands. Childish ones at that.

404: "A child?"

Gudao: "Ah, we never introduced her, hm? Well, she is pretty sneaky. 404, this is jack, jack, this is 404."

404: "It is nice to see you, little one. Your clothes are raggedy though..."

Jack: "Why is your name a number?

404: "It is an expression. I am called Error 404 because a 404 error is when someone tries to find something that can't be found, simply because it's not a thing. You can say I'm trying to find something like that."

Jack: "But why?"

404: "Because I feel obligated to."

Jack nodded. She could relate. After all, she too was trying to find her mother's womb to return back to a place in which it was warm.

Gudao: "Well, it's a good thing you both get along. Um, we should probably get going then."

Da Vinci: "Right, unsummoning program start!" Something started, idk how to narrate. "We should leave the area. And 404, you still owe me some answers!"

404 rolled his eyes as the announcements continued. He noticed that Jak was looking at him.

404: "Is there something wrong, little one?"

Jack: "You're tall."

She then reached out a hand toward him. 404 looked at it as he noticed her eyes shift toward his hands.

404: 'Is that what she truly wants? Or perhaps is there something more to this ray-shifting thing?'

He then started to float before feeling his body start to leave the physical plane, yet, he held Jack's hand firmly as they continued to travel. He could hear a childish giggle. A passage through time. He could feel the seconds tick backward as they were sent through a time stream. One era, half an era, and two eras passed. More were to come, yet many more were lost.
