Chapter 9: UmUception

No more Christmas Nero.

==Chapter Start==

The battle cries of warriors, the group watched on as they approached the fighting sides.

Mashu: "That's... No doubt about it, they're in combat. One side is overwhelmingly larger than the other. The larger force wears regalia of crimson and gold. The small wears the same, but a different design."

404: "Ancient Rome loved their red and gold... A woman is leading the smaller groups. If I'm not mistaken, that should be Nero, though still a human."

Dr. Romani: "You're truly brilliant, aren't you?"

404: "Perhaps you're just slow."

Jack: "Tall mommy, I can kill, right?"

404: "Go crazy, small one."

Jack: "Yippee!"

Jack entered the fight, helping Nero as she looked at the group. One by one they fell as 404 had his hood up, not wanting to freak out the people by being a skeleton. Not that he minded, he could use blue magic to make them believe he was a human, but that would be a waste of good magic.

Gudako: "Mashu, please defend Nero's blind spots."

Mashu: "Yes Dako-Senpai!"

Gudao: "404, please get Jack to stop killing."

404 only looked at them before pointing a finger at the little girl as she was frozen and was teleported into his arms. Jack was confused as to what happened before noticing that she had been teleported.

Jack: "You're so cool, tall mommy!"

404: "I know."

As the fight drew out, eventually, the larger side was battered, bloodied, and had given up the spirit to fight as Nero looked down on them.

Nero: "Sheath your swords! It's over. You there! Are you reinforcements from the capital? I thought the capital was sealed off... It doesn't matter if you were once my enemy. I am merciful, so past mistakes are water under the bridge. If anything, I commend you for your beauty despite carrying a weapon bigger than yourself! I shall allow you to fight by my side. Revel in the ultimate honor!"

404: 'Still has an ego. Great.'

Nero: "But still, you people sure do dress weirdly. Aren't you showing a little too much? Are you foreigners?"

Gudao: "We thank you for your generous praise."

Gudako was about to speak, but 404 stopped her using blue magic, making her panic a little.

Nero: "Mhmmm, hmm. You may enjoy wallowing in the sweet sounds I utter. At any rate, this victory belongs to us. I will reward you handsomely!" She was about to say more but stopped with a dejected look. "Oh, uh, sorry... I couldn't help myself just now. You'll have to wait for your reward. Since I have nothing but this sword at the moment."

404 looked at Nero, Nero taking notice as she saw how his clothes looked much...different than theirs. Definitely looked warm, and it didn't help that he was tall. He was a fucking giant compared to her standing at just an inch under 5ft!

Also...

Nero: 'Huh? Did he always...? Huh. Well, he's surely weird for a human.'

Yeah, 404 decided it would be better to use blue magic to make sure people didn't question why he was a skeleton by warping people's minds. It was... quite easy. Their minds were considered weak and simple compared to those back in his story.
