A/N: We're going to skip all the baby delivery stuff. It's rather boring, lol!
"She's beautiful, Rane." Harlow stated as she looked down at the sleeping infant in her arms.
"Just like her momma." He replied as his phone buzzed in his pocket.
Jax: we're all in the waiting room.
Quinn: you can come in and see the baby now. She's beautiful!
"I think you're about to have some guests. Jax said they were all in the waiting room." Quinn chuckled.
"Ok. I don't mind." Harlow replied as she scooted around to be more presentable to all the people that were about to come into her room.
A few minutes later the door opened up revealing Jax, Chibs, Tig, Juice, Ratboy, Bobby, and Gemma. Chibs had a stuffed bear with a balloon attached that said "Congratulations" on it.
"Hey guys! Meet little Willow Elise Quinn." Harlow smiled.
"We finally have a girl in the family!" Gemma gushed.
"I know." Quinn replied with a wide grin.
"She's beautiful, lass. Congratulations." Chibs said.
"Thank you." Harlow smiled.
The group chatted for a while before the nurse came in and said visiting hours were over. Quinn promised to be there bright and early the next day when she and the baby were released from the hospital to take them home. Gemma kissed her forehead before leaving as did Chibs. Quinn kissed her lips then leaned down to kiss the baby's forehead before following his brothers and Gemma out the door. The nurse helped Harlow get the baby into the basinet that had been brought into her room for the baby to sleep in. Once the baby was settled, she leaned her bed back and closed her eyes to try and get some sleep as well.
Quinn was a very proud man as he went to pick up his wife and daughter from the hospital the next morning. He stopped at the diner to grab a quick bite of breakfast before heading to the hospital. When he finally arrived, she was just getting dressed after being unhooked from all the monitors. The baby was sound asleep in her basinet and not yet dressed to go home. Harlow had packed a cute little dress for her trip home and couldn't wait to see her in it. Quinn stood by and watched his wife dressing their daughter with a smile. He was incredibly proud of his family and couldn't wait until they could take Willow to the clubhouse to show off. Once Harlow and Willow were dressed, they were ready to leave. Harlow held the baby as she was wheeled downstairs as it was standard procedure with the hospital. Quinn went down to move the truck to the entrance so Harlow didn't have to walk across the lot with the baby.
Quinn had to get back to work but promised to come by during his lunch break to check up on them. She smiled up at him before he leaned down to give her a kiss. He kissed Willow's forehead then reluctantly left the house to go to work. Harlow had taken a couple weeks of maternity leave from her company so she didn't have to work even though she worked from home. She wanted to rest after having the baby and get a little bonding time with her daughter before putting her in daycare and going back to work. Gemma had given her some great advice about cooking and making meals. The last few weeks before she delivered, she cooked a bunch of meals and froze them so all she had to do was heat them up and they'd have a good homecooked meal without her having to do all the cooking that night. It would make things easier with having a brand new baby for the first-time mom. Harlow thanked the older woman for the advice especially since she hadn't thought about cooking dinner once the baby arrived.
Harlow was still sore from the delivery so she had to ease herself up and down off the couch when she got up or sat down. She kept the baby in the car seat by the couch so she could tend to her as needed. Harlow was mostly watching movies until it was time to make lunch. Quinn sent her a text telling her he was bringing lunch home with him and he'd see her in a few. She smiled and sat back down on the couch to await her husband. He arrived about ten minutes later holding a paper bag. He checked in on Harlow first then Willow before setting the bag on the coffee table. He poured them some tea and grabbed a couple paper towels before sitting next to Harlow on the couch. He dug in the bag and handed her a burger then an order of fries. She thanked him for bringing lunch making him smile and tell her it was no problem. As they ate, he asked how her day was going and if she were taking it easy. She chuckled and said all she'd been doing was watching the baby and the TV. He nodded since he had a mouth full of food.
Once he'd eaten, he threw their trash away and put his glass in the dishwasher. He bid her goodbye and reminded her to take it easy. She promised him she would before he left to head back to work. She'd made several meals to freeze before the baby came so after Quinn left to head back to work, she eased herself up off the couch and walked into the kitchen to figure out which meal to pull out for dinner that night. Chicken pot pie sounded good, so she took one that she'd already made and set it aside to start dethawing. She was very thankful for Gemma's suggestion because she knew she wasn't up to actually cooking that night and she didn't want to survive on take-out for weeks at a time! Having the dinner dilemma settled, she walked back into the living room and eased back down in her seat. Willow was awake and looking around making Harlow coo at the infant. The baby started crying so Harlow picked her up and stuck her pinky finger in her mouth. Sure enough, the baby was hungry.
Harlow began feeding Willow and smiling at the infant as she did. She was thankful she had such a wonderful husband like Quinn who didn't seem to mind helping around the house or helping with the baby. He always loved rubbing her expanding belly when she was pregnant and talking to her stomach which always made her giggle. The baby finally finished feeding so Harlow decided she should change her diaper as well before laying her back in her car seat. The diaper bag was near the couch by the car seat so she grabbed a clean diaper, a wipe, and some baby power. Willow was soiled just like Harlow thought she was so she changed the diaper as quickly as she could. Once the baby was changed, Harlow put her back in the car seat then eased herself up off the couch to throw the soiled diaper away. It didn't take long for the baby to fall back asleep. Once Harlow returned to the living room, she stretched out on the couch and went to sleep as well. It was nice working from home and having the time to be able to take off for maternity leave!
Quinn was thinking of what to order for dinner that night knowing his wife was in no condition to cook for them. When he got home from work, he found her bringing a baking dish to the set dinner table. He stopped in his tracks and watched her refill her tea glass then move it to the table. Willow was fast asleep in her car seat so Harlow left her there while she finished up with dinner.
"Baby Doll, you shouldn't have cooked. You need to rest!" Quinn faux scolded her making her laugh.
"I did a lot of cooking before Willow came and froze the meals. All I had to do was take it out of the freezer and put it in the oven to bake. I didn't do much today." She explained.
"Oh. Well that was pretty smart." He stated as he had a seat at his place.
"It was a genius idea from Gemma." Harlow chuckled.
"Smells wonderful." Quinn told her.
"Thanks. I thought a chicken pot pie would be nice and hearty today." She replied.
"This is so good. I was figuring we'd have to just order in until you felt up to cooking again!" He chuckled.
"I had a plan about cooking once Gemma gave me the idea. I might call in once or twice but I'll try to keep a good, hearty meal prepared." She answered.
"Glad to hear it. I love your cooking." He told her making her blush at the compliment.
She asked about his day so he told her about the car he was working on and some of the nonsense his brothers had going on making her laugh. He asked about her day making her shrug and tell him she'd basically lounged around the living room watching movies and the baby all day. Nothing exciting really. As they were finishing up dinner, the baby started crying. He told her he'd clean up from dinner while she tended to the baby. Willow was hungry again so Harlow began feeding her as Quinn put up all the dirty dishes in the dishwasher, washed the counters and dining table off, and put the leftovers in the fridge. He took his glass and headed into the living room and had a seat next to her on the couch as she continued to feed the baby. Harlow could smell the baby needed changing too so once Willow was done nursing, Harlow grabbed all the supplies to change the baby. Quinn was fascinated at how Harlow just knew what to do. She changed the baby and asked Quinn to dispose of the dirty diaper for her. She set the baby on the seat next to her and began making faces bringing a smile to Willow's tiny face.
A/N: Sorry this is so short. Kind of a filler chapter :/
