A Midsummer's Caress

Chapter 24

Harlow read two stories before Willow passed out in her arms. She gently laid her daughter in her bed, covered her up, kissed her forehead, then shut the light off and shut the door. Quinn was already in bed waiting for her to come to bed as he watched TV. She changed for bed then slid in next to her husband. He pulled her into his arms and kissed her forehead before thanking her for allowing his injured brother to stay with them while he healed up. She smiled up at him and said it was no problem. They watched TV until they both drifted off to sleep cuddling. As usual, she woke up before him so she slid out of bed, got dressed, and headed into the kitchen to start a pot of coffee before starting on breakfast. Willow came running into the kitchen rubbing her eyes as Harlow was staring into the fridge trying to decide what to make. A sudden craving for omelets hit so she got out the ingredients to make them before pouring Willow a sippy cup of milk and setting her in her booster seat at the table. Quinn woke up and got dressed. As he was walking down the hallway to the kitchen, Kozik was leaving his room. The tall blond greeted his brother before walking on into the kitchen. Quinn kissed his wife's cheek before introducing the pair and then Willow. He poured two cups of coffee, one for him and one for Kozik.

Kozik thanked the pair for letting him stay with them while he healed up and their club business got handled. Quinn just smiled and said it was their pleasure. As Quinn was sipping on his coffee, there came a knock at the door. He told his wife he'd answer it before getting up. She continued working on breakfast for everyone as her husband tended to whoever was at the door. Quinn returned with Chibs in tow who was there to look over Kozik and his wounds. The pair went to the living room leaving the Quinn family in the kitchen and dining room. Harlow was adding crumbled pan sausage, green and red bell peppers, cheddar cheese, and diced tomatoes to her omelets with a side of pan sausage to go with them. Quinn was quick to tell her how good everything was smelling. Chibs was satisfied Kozik's wounds weren't getting infected as the blond put his shirt back on. They walked back into the dining room. Quinn asked the medic if he were staying for breakfast making the Scotsman tell him he would if he were welcome.

Quinn laughed and said he was always welcome at their house. She got down four plates so she could slide each omelet onto a plate before bringing it to the table. Chibs found a seat after pouring himself a cup of coffee. A few minutes later, Harlow started bringing plates to the table. Then she brought a platter of sausages with her coffee cup to the table and had a seat. Chibs thanked her for breakfast earning a smile in return. Harlow fed Willow off her plate while the men discussed random things while they ate. After breakfast, Kozik headed into the living room to sit as per Chibs' instructions. Quinn helped Harlow clean up from breakfast. As Harlow was getting Willow ready for her day at daycare, Quinn was showing Kozik where the remotes to the TV and cable were as well as the extensive DVD collection. He told the smaller blond what all they had to drink and for him to make himself at home. Quinn kissed his wife before leaning down and kissing Willow's forehead before leaving for work. Harlow told their guest she would be back shortly after she dropped off Willow at daycare. He promised he'd be right there and for her to be careful. Chibs followed Quinn to the shop after they left the house.

It didn't take Harlow long to drop off her daughter since the daycare was a short ways from their house. It seemed to shock Kozik when she returned. She told him if he needed anything to feel free and come to her in her office before telling him where everything was like Quinn had done. When Chibs and Quinn arrived at the shop, Jax wanted to know how Kozik was doing and how things were going at Quinn's house. Chibs explained what he knew so far and how he thought Kozik was doing. Quinn told him the smaller blond pretty much went straight to bed after they got him settled in his room since he was in pain. He ate breakfast with everyone else and was sitting up in the living room watching TV when he left. Jax just nodded before everyone split to get to work for the day. Later that day, Lee contacted Jax to see if he could send a few of his brothers up to Tacoma to help with the situation that had injured his brothers in the first place. Jax promised he'd send who he could.
