Harlow was getting around fairly well with just the cast and not needing the crutches much. It was still a struggle to stay standing for long periods of time so Quinn helped make breakfast before he took Willow to daycare. It was odd for him to be driving his wife's truck since he was so used to always being on his bike. He didn't want to chance anything happening to his daughter if he tried taking her on his bike. She was still too young in his opinion. Harlow worked during the day and tried to make dinner at night but needed her husband's help to do so. She couldn't wait for the doctor's appointment to take the offending cast off her leg. Quinn always told her to relax and not rush anything because a broken bone was serious and he wanted her to be totally well by the time the cast was supposed to come off. She sighed knowing he was right. It wouldn't do her any good to rush things.
Gemma came over to help her make a bunch of meals to freeze to help out with the cooking situation since Harlow was still having a hard time standing for long stretches of time. The younger woman was very grateful for all the help Gemma was providing making the biker Queen just wave her off and tell her "It's what families do, sweetheart." Quinn had let his brothers know about Harlow's pregnancy earning lots of "congratulations" and man-hugs from his brothers. Chibs was curious at how little Willow took the news making Quinn laugh and tell him that he wasn't sure she understood that mommy was going to be bringing another baby home in a few months. Chibs just laughed and nodded. Jax had the prospect pour a shot for everyone in celebration of Quinn's good news. The ginormous blond was glad that his brothers were happy for him and his 'ol lady. It made him laugh when they started taking bets about what the sex was going to be. Half thought it was going to be another girl and the other half were convinced it was going to be a boy this time. He just shook his head before Gemma yelled at them to get back to work.
Harlow didn't think this day was ever going to come. She had an appointment with her doctor to see if she could have the cast taken off her leg. He had x-rays done to see how her leg had healed before making the final decision. Seeing that her leg had healed up perfectly, he told her they could now take the cast off. The cast technician came in with what appeared to be a circular saw. Harlow was a little frightened of what they were about to use to take her cast off. The technician explained what the saw was, how safe it was, and demonstrated it by placing the device against his palm as it was spinning to show how safe it was. It eased her mind some as he had her sit still with her leg outstretched. He started at the bottom of the cast and slowly made his way to the top. It took about twenty minutes for the technician to remove her cast. Once it was removed, the doctor came back in to help her off the exam table and to walk around the room. She was a little unstable on her uncasted leg without the cast on but she soon started regaining strength.
He told her that it was notunusual to experience some pain, swelling and stiffness of the joint for a fewdays and notice atrophy of the leg muscles for a few weeks. There would also bedry scaly skin around the leg. He explained to her to not rub it that it willgradually fall off. He told her to take a warm bath and wash her leg with warmsoapy water to help the scaly skin fall off and to moisturize the leg whichwould also help. Satisfied she was able to walk on her own, he told her tocheck out at the front desk. She thanked him for all his help before leavingthe room. It still hurt to walk some but it was a pain she was able to handle. She checked out then walked over to where Gemma was sitting with a smile. Theyheaded back to Harlow's residence where Gemma dropped her off before headingback to the shop. The biker Queen still had a lot of paperwork to do. Harlow decidedto go ahead and take a warm bath because her leg was itching where the dry skinwas at and hoped the moisturizer would help with that.
She was feeling spaghetti that night so after her long soak in the tub, and after moisturizing herself, she went to take out some ground beef to thaw before getting back to work. She'd be able to pick up her daughter from daycare and get back into her normal routine now that the cast had come off. Before she knew it, it was time to call it a day and go pick up little Willow. Quinn knew his 'ol lady had a doctor's appointment that day about her cast and was dying to know how it went. When he made it home, he found Willow sitting on the couch watching a Disney movie. He walked into the kitchen to find his wife making dinner. He slid his arms around her waist making her giggle as she tended to the cooking beef.
