Quinn waited until Harlow had finally fallen back asleep before letting himself drift to sleep too. The next morning, Harlow was wanting to make breakfast but she was finding it difficult while on crutches. Quinn chuckled and said he'd eat at the diner and for her to just relax and get some rest. She wanted to get back to work and decided to use the stool in her office to prop her injured leg on while she did. There were a couple meals pre-made in the freezer so she thought about what to take out to bake for that night's meal. Enchiladas sounded amazing so she opted for that. Tig seemed to like her Mexican food and hoped Happy would too. Quinn bid his wife a goodbye after making sure she had all she needed. She promised him if she needed anything while he was at work, she'd call.
Tig was surprised to see Quinn walking into the diner that morning. The SAA waved his brother over who happily joined him at the table. The waitress was immediately at the table to take Quinn's drink order and hand him a menu. Once Quinn had put in his breakfast order, Western omelet and bacon, he turned his attention to his brother.
"I figured you'd be eating breakfast at home." Tig commented.
"I'm not much of a cook and poor Harlow is unsteady on her crutches. She's in no condition to be in the kitchen." Quinn explained.
"Poor thing. I can't believe Tara actually came to your house and attacked Harlow with a tire iron." Tig shook his head, "Who would've seen that coming?"
"I know. She always seemed pretty stable. I guess she couldn't handle this life after all." Quinn shrugged.
"So how's Harlow really doing?" Tig asked.
"She's having to take her pain medicine every four hours. Like I said, she's still unsteady on her crutches. Her side and back is still sore and tender to the touch." Quinn replied.
"Damn. Good thing nothing but her leg was broken." Tig exclaimed earning a head nod from his companion.
"Yeah. I'm surprised Harlow stabbed her, though. I guess it was the closest weapon she had to defend herself with." Quinn chuckled.
"Tara stabbed her four times and then she winds up stabbing Tara four times. Karma's a bitch." Tig laughed.
The conversation turned to the attack the previous night and whether or not it could be club related. Quinn hoped Happy would tell him what was going on once he got to the clubhouse. Tig wasn't sure it had anything to do with the club but wanted to hear from Happy to know for sure. Then they started talking about a run Bobby wanted the club to do that was coming up in the next couple months. Gemma loved doing charity work and Bobby loved doing charity runs. They were able to support great causes and be out on the open road. It was a win-win for everyone! Quinn hated being away from his 'ol lady and daughter but loved being on the open road and would happily participate in the run if asked.
The two men split the check then headed out to their bikes to head to the clubhouse. Happy was sipping on his second cup of coffee when the pair arrived. He told Quinn the intruders were just two random burglars looking for things to steal for drug money. It had nothing to do with the club and they had hit several other houses in their neighborhood. Quinn thanked his brother for getting to the bottom of things for him earning a grunt in response. As hard as the blond tried to concentrate on work, all Quinn could think about was how his 'ol lady was doing. She might be fine for a while but what will happen if she tries to get up and refill her tea glass? He sighed knowing he should be there with her but didn't want to take personal time unless it was absolutely necessary. Chibs felt bad for Harlow. Who could have foreseen Tara going to her home and attacking her with a tire iron? The medic didn't understand what had caused the doctor to go off the deep end like she did over Harlow. Especially since Harlow was so nice to everyone. Well, everyone except the crow eaters that messed with her man!
