By the time Lo'ak finished his sentence, the older Metkayina had joined them in their little circle, looking completely perplexed.
"What are you even talking about?!" Neteyam exclaimed, slightly raising his voice in response to his brother's strange behavior. Why has he suddenly decided that Neteyam wants Ao'nung to be his mate?

Despite the warrior's ability to keep his anger under control, he gradually felt rage building up and rising to his head. If there was one thing he couldn't stand, it was when people weren't completely honest with him. Especially in situations like these, where they're mad without explaining why.
Neteyam's eyes narrowed as he waited for an understandable response.

"I saw you two!" Lo'ak continued to spit out, visibly agitated. He pointed his finger at the boys, his gaze shifting from one na'vi to the other. Neteyam was irritated by his brother's response, rather than relieved that he had finally moved the conversation forward.
"Saw us doing what?" he huffed, subconsciously mimicking Lo'ak's aggressive tail-flicking.

"Fuck.. kissing! I caught you two kissing, Neteyam!", the younger one finally hissed out while breathing heavily.

A huge shiver ran down Neteyam's spine, and he had to take a small step back.
Just as he was about to open his mouth, Ao'nung already took the job and walked up to Lo'ak with heavy steps, looking much bigger when they were standing right in front of each other. "And what about it?" he asked, slightly tilting his head with an angry undertone.
At this point, the stressed tension in the air felt like a massive stone crushing all of their senses.

Lo'ak looked at the boy, stunned. "What about it?" he repeated in disbelief, slightly pushing the other's shoulder; something he should never have done.
Ao'nung suddenly pushed him even harder, causing the younger one to fall back a few steps. "You heard me, freak," he provocatively said, adding to his actions. But before the argument could worsen, Neteyam quickly drew Ao'nung's arm back and placed his hand on his brother's chest, preventing him from walking any further toward them.

"What the actual fuck?!", he yelled at them both, turning his head left and right and briefly glancing at Tsireya. The poor girl was too scared to intervene; she even appeared terrified.
"Lo'ak," Neteyam began as he let go of Ao'nung's arm and returned his attention to his brother, who was acting beyond weird. "Why do you care so much?".
The warrior needed answers right away. He couldn't think of a good reason why his little thing with the chief's son was so offensive to him.

"Bro, Ao'nung is going to be the next Olo'eyktan; who will he pass the role to if he dies?".
When the younger brother got nothing but irritated looks from the others, he continued. "You two will be unable to have children! Having your own family was always one of your greatest desires ", he exclaimed, staring Neteyam down and watching as his ears flattened at the words.
"Not to mention that Ao'nung is a bastard".

The Metkayina immediately balled his fists and tensed his body, ready to take the next step if necessary, but Neteyam quickly held him back.
"Apparently he goes around kissing almost every girl in Awa'atlu and then ditching them," Lo'ak continued, listing reasons why the teal na'vi is not a good mate. But what they didn't notice was Ao'nung's unmistakable look at his sister, clearly intimidating her.

"You'll be the next one, I'm telling you!"

Neteyam simply sighed deeply. He didn't want to believe what his brother was telling him, but he's pretty sure these details came from Tsireya, and why would she make something like that up?
Still, his heart clenched as he processed those words, and he felt his muscles weaken with each passing second. If this was true, would Ao'nung have felt nothing when kissing Neteyam? Neither on the ilu nor in the pod.

Although it was difficult to believe, a small part of his heart hoped that the chief's son had changed and was serious about him. "Lo'ak, that's none of your busine-."

"Just fucking take a girl and there'll be no problems!" he interrupted his brother, not allowing him to finish his sentence. But little did the boy know that saying this was probably the biggest mistake he had ever made.

Because it only took one strong fist for the discussion to end.
