John

"What's wrong? You've been quiet the whole ride," he asked as we went up to the elevator. "Nothing. I'm thinking about my script." I answered.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎

The door opened once we reached the floor. I was about to reach for my key card when he was still standing far away. "Hey, why are you just standing there?".

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎

"I'm seeing you off.".

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎

What? "You're not staying over?".

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎

He looked at me as if I'm serious asking him to stay over. I'm shocked at myself as well. "Sorry to intrude.".

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎

Good thing that I cleaned up this place before leaving. I came at least prepared, except for the food...

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎

"Here wear these slippers," I said while putting them down for him to wear. "Thanks, but may I ask you something?". Oh? His tone changed. "Sure, what is it?" I asked while I head over to my kitchen. "Don't you feel it's a little weird for you to ask me to stay?".

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎

"Why is that? I'm just...curious about something.".

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎

"Is it something I can answer?" he asked and I nodded. He walked over to where I was standing and hold both of my hands.  "Are you finally interested in me?".

‎ ‎ ‎

"I mean, who doesn't? Besides, it's been bothering me for the times I've met you.".

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎

He looked at me with fixed eyes, "That's understandable. Though that's going to be difficult for me to compromise.".

‎ ‎ ‎

"Ha? Seriously?" I ask, annoyed. "How about, one question a day? In that way, choose your questions wisely," he says that made me give up. "Whatever, fine.".

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎

"So what is it?".

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎

"What kind of work do you actually have?" I asked and stared at him in his every move. He let go of me and faces his back at me. "Illegal or legal?".

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎

"Both.".

"Legal. I have my corporation, I recently moved a branch here to expand. Illegal...there's too much information for you to understand about that.".

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎

"Then explain it to me. It's not that hard, right?" I asked. Desperate to know what kind of world is he in. "Private business.".

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎

"A business inherited from my Father. Which took lengths across corruption, fraud, and money laundering," he says and sighed. I couldn't blink a single eye. Corruption? Fraud? Money laundering?

"Now, did that answer your question?"
