"So, what did the suits say?" she asked as Chan walked into her studio.
"They're pretty impressed by the group."
"I sense a but,"
He took a deep breath and sat down, " You know what I hate about this industry? "
" Everything boils down to money? "
He gave her a deadpan look before continuing, "They want us to compete on a survival show."
"Against who?"
"Don't know yet. Something like Sixteen but with a pre-made group. Us. They said we'd be given tasks and we have to prove ourselves."
"That sounds antsy," she muttered
She heard Chan wheel his chair closer to her, "Hey, you good?"
She gulped and looked at him, "Y-Yeah."
"I met Sana a few days ago. I don't think she meant to, but she told me that you had an anxiety attack the other day. She asked me how you were, not knowing that we weren't on talking terms. And then she told me." he reached and grabbed her hand, "Wanna talk about it?"
She took a deep breath, "I haven't told my parents yet, you know. This whole idol thing. I'm scared of how they will react. This literal whole thing. It happened so fast, Chan. One moment I'm with BTS writing lyrics and then I get the offer and then you get me the offer and now I'm here. This is...all real and it's just so overwhelming. I'm scared of how the public will react. I'm scared...I'm scared of what if I get eliminated. What if-"
And the next thing she knew Chan kissed her.
She was so taken off guard that she didn't even kiss back, just froze until he pulled back.
"Sorry. I didn't know how else to shut you up," he muttered
She couldn't reply, still frozen.
"Listen, I promised I'd never leave you behind. And I plan on keeping that promise. I screwed up once, I'm not screwing up again. Stop overthinking this situation. People are gonna talk no matter what we do. It's best if we give them something to talk about. And why would you get eliminated? Have you seen your skills? There was a reason why trainees were intimidated by you back in the day. You are a true ace, Win. An all-rounder. So stop overanalyzing things. You are sticking with me, for better or worse."
She finally moved, licking her lips, and tasting his mango lip balm (why did it taste like the same one she used?), before she took a deep breath.
She nodded and then spoke up, "Next time you want to shut me up, don't kiss. In fact, I'd appreciate it if you don't kiss me ever again."
Chan's soft smile fell, "Why? What happened? Did I do something?"
"No. Just don't kiss me."
"Why?"
Because I don't want to fall in love with you.
"You know how much I like physical affection, right? Just-just don't. Find another way to shut me up."

Another week, another ice cream rendezvous.
This time Jeongin was joining her, Felix and Jisung.
The lift finally arrived, ending their awkward silence. The four poured in as soon as the door opened and she pressed the button to the ground floor.
Just as the door was about to close, it didn't.
