The year had not started so great for her. This was her last chance, last year, to make it as an idol. If she were to fail this, she knew she had to kiss the past 6 years of training a big fat goodbye.
The first trimester of the year just saw rumours of new line-ups coming, but nothing was ever cemented.
Then the announcement was made.
A survival show consisting of 16 contestants, and the result- a place in JYPE's upcoming girl group.
Winnie quickly made her way to her manager as soon as she heard that and asked where she was supposed to sign for the show.
That night, the four of them gathered in the room JeongJiWin shared with another trainee. Nayeon was visiting and staying as long as the last trainee was supposed to return.
Nayeon had managed to smuggle in some soft drink cans. So the four of them were having their own little party.
"Congratulations on signing up for the survival show." Winnie smiled as the four clinked their cans.
"Thank you," Nayeon replied
"You are taking part, right?" Jeongyeon asked
"Yeah..." Winnie smiled, "I have applied. Rest is up to the company"
"Trust me, you are better than half of those who have applied. You'll get in." Nayeon said
"You, eonnie, have more faith in me than I do." Winnie smiled
"You will do great!" Jeongyeon flashed her a thumbs up.
And next thing she knew Jisoo wrapped her arms tightly around her, "And we can finally debut in the same group after all this time."
Winnie chuckled and cuddled the older girl right back, "Yeah. finally debuting together."
The two girls didn't let go of their embrace when the older of the two spoke again.
"So, I'm thinking of changing my name."
"To what?" Nayeon asked, keeping her juice down.
"Jihyo." she shrugged, "Jisoo is too common."
"Well, if that's what you wanna be called from now on, go for it, my love." Winnie chuckled, snuggling into her. "Park Jihyo, my best friend forever."
"And quite possibly future group mates!"

"I'm happy for you!" Chan said when she finally told him the news. The two were walking to their dorms, which were close by, after a whole day of training after school.
"Thanks, Channie."
"Whoa!" he giggled loudly, "I almost envy you! Not in a bad way, of course." he quickly added
Winnie just smiled.
" Finally my best friend is debuting! Man! " he chuckled, "Give it a few years and I'd be able to say very proudly that Winnie of the upcoming girl group under JYP is my best friend."
She hummed back.
"Promise me you won't forget me after getting famous."
Not hearing a reply, Chan turned to his side to see his side empty and Winnie a few steps back.
"Win? Hey." he walked to her, "Hey"
His eyes roamed her face before settling on her eyes.
" What's wrong? " he asked
