" Alright. Next person. Go ahead, introduce yourself ."
Winnie took a deep breath, steadying herself, getting proper seating before looking at the screen.
" Hi. Uhm...I'm Liswini Chhanzo. But everyone calls me Winnie. I'm originally from India but I'm currently situated in Seoul, South Korea. I'm 18 years old. And....that's it, I guess. "
" Alright. Is it okay to address you as Winnie? "
" I would prefer that, yes, sir. "
" Great. Have you done any previous sound or music production work? "
A question that had been asked of everyone.
She gulped again, " Uh...yes. Yes, I have. I have, so far, produced 5 songs for various Korean artists, including a lead single for BTS. If you've heard of them, that is. "
The fuck? Of course, they'd have heard of them! BTS was huge!
Murmurs broke in the online class, including sentences like, " She's worked for BTS? "
Winnie wanted to correct her that she has worked with BTS, but whatever, semantics.
Thankfully, the first day of classes was quick with just the introductions and a bare minimum explanation of the syllabus and course structure.
By the time her class neared its end, there was a knock on the door and Winnie perispherically saw the door open and Seungmin stepped in.
She mentally winced. The camera was still on. She raised her hand, beyond the scope of the camera and told him to wait.
" And we'll end today's class here. I'll see you all tomorrow. "
She quickly exited the class and turned, almost jumping to see Seungmin sitting right next to her, looking at her laptop.
"You attend online college?" he asked
"Uh...Yeah. It just started today."
"What course?"
"Music and Sound Production."
"That sounds fun."
She just shrugged and then turned to him, "What brings you here?"
"Oh, yeah. Chan hyung asked me to fetch you. It's a group meeting thing."
She nodded and got up, Seungmin following her as the two made their way to their Studio 10F.
Entering, she was surprised to see one of the creative directors there. She quickly bowed to him and rushed to stand next to Chan.
Well, for once she was glad that she and Chan were the same height.
"My next class is in 10 minutes," she whispered to him
"Shit!" he turned to her, "Sorry but I think you'd have to skip it."
"I don't think they'll cover much on the first day."
"Is that everyone, Chan?" the director asked
Chan broke off his gaze from her and looked at him, before looking over everyone else.
"That's right. This is everyone."
"Alright." the director nodded, "I'll keep this short. I look forward to what you all have to show at the trainee showcase. I'm sure Chan and Winnie would have explained it all."
A chorus of agreement rang out.
"All the best everyone! Fighting!"
They all gave enthusiastic responses in return. He then turned to the oldest two, "PD-nim wanted to have a word with you both. He's waiting for you in his office."
