2011

Another year came and passed and before they knew it had been 2 years since Winnie joined JYPE. By the end of 2010, their little friend group had expanded a little more. It now also included new trainees Im Nayeon, Ho Yeongsan and Park Sungjin.

Winnie also noticed the increased number of trainees who spoke other languages like Chinese Mandarin, Japanese and English and she was happy to see diversity.

Occasionally she'd make small talk with these trainees, which was quite awkward for her introverted ass, but connections were important in the music industry.

And despite the growing friend circle, Winnie remained the maknae of the group, much to her chagrin. Why couldn't they have at least one trainee who was younger than her?

Being the maknae meant she was usually running errands for the group. Not that she minded much but she wasn't exactly fond of it either!

Grunting, carrying the plastic bags, she had just turned around the corner, heading for the vocal training room with another 20 minutes to spare, only to collide and get knocked to the floor.

"I'm so sorry!" someone said in a thick accent as she rubbed her head and her butt.

"Watch where you are going!" she snapped and opened her eyes to see a guy, looking at her worried and a little scared.

"I'm so sorry," he repeated

Winnie gave him a stink eye before she started collecting the things she was carrying that fell due to the collision.

She found him helping her.

"Are you okay?" he asked

"I'll be fine," she muttered

"I'm sorry."

"Yeah, you said that. " she got up, patting down her clothes. " Whatever, it's fine."

He bowed to her one more time before he turned and rushed back, entering the vocal training room.

She frowned a little but made her way to the room too. Entering, she made her way towards where Jaebum, Jeongyeon and Nayeon were sitting.

"You okay?" Nayeon asked as she sat down with them.

"Yeah, pretty good," Winnie replied, looking over her shoulder. She had found the boy from earlier look at her, but when she caught him looking, he looked away.

"Then who are you staring at?" Jaebum asked

Winnie looked back at them, "Nobody." she looked at Jeongyeon, who held her fruit juice bottle, "Can I get a sip?"

Jeongyeon opened the bottle and gave it to her, she took a sip and returned the bottle.

Soon enough their trainer returned and their class began.

As usual, she and Jaebum got praises for their vocals with suggestions for improvement. Nayeon and Jeongyeon were still new compared to the other two, so they were given pointers on how to improve.

Winnie was a bit surprised by how stable the boy sounded despite only being a rookie. In the past year, Jisoo had introduced her to pretty much every person she knew, so Winnie figured that the boy had to be a new trainee.

For his age and for someone who was yet to get puberty, the boy was good.

But Winnie wasn't that interested in him. So many trainees joined the company regularly, be it scouting or auditions, that it was hard to keep track. And Winnie was more focused on improving herself.
