The rain cleared up! Don't ask me why I would be happy about this, but it's nice to see a change every now and again. Danny, on the other hand, was looking sick to his stomach. I began to worry for him, since I wasn't completely knowledgeable of how well demons adapt to mortal weather. But he brushes it off and tells me he's fine. 

I don't think he's fine, obviously. I wished I knew why he was backing away when I've been trying to reach out to him. It was very out of character for him to be so reclusive, especially with me. We shared all our secrets together.

Today I was surprised to see Danny preparing to go out. He was never the type to go outside often, but he seemed to be in a hurry. He left my room and I followed suit, we went down the stairs and I dragged Danny back to face me.

"Clingy much?" He chuckled.

"Darling, be serious with me. Are you okay? You know you can tell me anything, right?" I was quick to pass through his front.

Danny's face quickly darkened with an emotion I could not recognize. He pushed his hand through his hair then placed that hand on my shoulder.

"Do something for me, alright? Make sure that you nor Pete open the door if you hear it knock." He ordered, I thought he was joking at first but his expression said otherwise.

He delivered a passionate kiss before he left. I heard the loud flaps of his wings before the sounds were out of my hearing. I frowned in confusion. I wonder what that was all about. 

If I continued to think about this, I'll begin to worry more. It couldn't be that serious, but we just have to wait and see. So, I have an urge to annoy Pete.

Later.

We were altered to the sound of knocking at the front door. Pete slowly picked up the remote and paused the anime we were watching. I raised my eyebrow. I wasn't expecting a visitor, but it wasn't Danny either because I gave him one of the spare house keys. 

"Shouldn't you answer the door?" Pete asked.

That's when I remembered that Danny told me to not answer the door when I hear it knock. I hesitated for a second before I got up from the couch.

"Danny said not too." I said, rather slowly. The knocking became louder.

"Huh? Did he say why?" He asked again.

"Nope. I told him okay and moved on. I wondered why, but I thought he was being over-protective of me." I pondered.

"Wooooow, that sounds like a particular behaviour that starts with a 'B'." Pete teased.

"Don't you dare fucking say it!" I hissed.

I took Pete by the hand and we went to the window near the front door. I peered through the glass and I saw a figure at the door. I closed the curtain and jumped back. I gave Pete a look and he understood immediately. We quickly moved to the foyer.

Now we were starting to panic. Pete was shaking me around and screeching at me to open the door. I was hesitating, the worry was squeezing my throat.

"Okay! Fine! Just stop yelling!" 

"Listen, if anything happens to us....you've been the bestest friend in the whole wide world...."

"Y-You're an actual fucking idiot.....I adore you too, big guy."

Before I could even get my hand on the knob, a flash of lightning flashed before my eyes and I staggered back. I was caught by Pete and he brought me back to my feet. I had to regain my composure after being fucking flashbanged by our unknown assailant. After my eyes adjusted, I was given the shock of my life.

"Y/n?! Who's that?!" Pete whimpered.

The stranger smiled at us. He looked me up and down with the same loving look I see in Danny's eyes. Something drew me to him, something dangerous....how much was I risking just to embrace this feeling?

"Listen, man, I'm giving you five seconds to explain how the hell you got into my house and state who you are." I said firmly.

I was met with a soft, cheeky laugh. The man was shorter than I was, but he managed to drag me down to his level. Pete was ready to intervene but the shorter growled at him.

"Allow me to introduce myself, my love. My name is Arny, the divine servant of Zeus, the god of thunder."
