During that week, the classes had come around normally; the guests since they'd be staying this year also attended our classes. Thankfully I only had four classes this year, leaving me one free period; granted they didn't feel like free periods. Since we were in our 6th years, our classes now had become tougher, preparing us for our N.E.W.T.S.  giving out more homework and the assignments were a lot tougher; my free periods were constantly filled with trying to finish homework and studying for our upcoming exam. The twins weren't too happy about it as they had hoped we could spend more time this year with pranks, especially with the new students coming in; but if I was going to go for the job that I wanted, I'd need to do very well on my N.E.W.T.S.

I had been thankful that the classes I had given were not too difficult, two were ones that I enjoyed More-so so that was a plus. The four classes I were to be taking this year were as followed: Defense against the Dark Arts, Herbology, Care for Magical Creatures, and Potions. Potions had been stressful enough even being the first week of school, Professor Snape had no plans on holding back. By the end of the class days, my brain had felt fried, and my arms feeling heavy as I brought my heavy books back to the common rooms.

The class I had felt most uncomfortable so far, was Defense against the Dark arts, typically I didn't mind the class, leaning defensive spells hadn't been a problem. Although this year we were to be taught by Allistar Moody, who believed that it would be best to teach us all about the unforgivable curses and learning how to resist the curses. It made me feel incredibly uncomfortable.

As we sat down in class, I took a seat to sit next to the side of George and Fred, this class had been one of the classes we took together so it had made going to the class more bearable. A vast majority had been rather excited to take his class with the knowledge of just who he was. While it was very nice to have a class with a teacher who had experience in the field, his methods had been... odd.

To demonstrate that week of the varying curses, he had brought out a large insect with two long pincers in the front and casted the spells onto them. I had felt bad for the creature, while the twins had enjoyed the class, watching him teach with wide grins. I was quite happy to finally leave the class once it had ended, this was going to be a slow year it seemed.

It was refreshing to have both Herbology and Care for Magical Creatures at the end of the day, which Both Hagrid and Sprout had made them more challenging, it felt like a breath of fresh air walking into their classes.

In Professor Sprouts class that week, we had gotten to learn about two different magical plants that week. At first, we had learned about a plant called Knotgrass, at first thought when thinking of the name of the plant you would think that it's leaves curled up in knots; but it was the exact opposite. It grew straight up, and large green leaves extended outward flowing gently in the soft breezes. We had learned that its main use was that of an ingredient in Polyjuice Potions which I deemed rather interesting, it's other use was in a type of mead. The second plant we had learned in her class before Thursday had been Sneezewort, a plant that commonly caused inflation in the brain, therefore were very much used in Confusing and Befuddlement Draughts, where if drunk the Wizard is desirous of producing hot-headedness and recklessness; which made class rather stressful as we had to wear masks to ensure we did not take in any of its fumes. I would later be taking several stacks of papers to complete as a pop quiz would be coming at the end of the week.

In Care for Magical Creatures, Hagrid had been teaching us for the majority of that week Hagrid had been teaching us about a creature called Diricawl, or commonly known to muggles as a Dodo bird. It had taken a large majority of the group since this creature commonly disappeared much like it had apparated to a safer spot if it felt that its life had been in danger; so, we had to slowly and carefully handle these creatures. They were extremely adorable and I had a blast learning more about them, quickly filling my journal with the information Hagrid had talked about. They were very large and plump birds with curved beaks and multi colored feathers, and were extremely skittish. They had been around muggles in the past, but due to many being hunted by them they had disappeared making them to believe they were extinct, and the International Confederation of Wizards had seen fit to ensure they kept thinking that way.
