Chapter 9 {AT}

Jungkook looked up at his hyung as his racing heart slowly calmed down. Yoongi looked into the boy's eyes "Get up and get dressed. We're leaving in ten minutes so don't try anything stupid either." He said then walked out of the room.

Jungkook sighed and closed his eyes when yoongi left the room only to be nudged by taehyung. "You should probably get up kook, hyung sounded serious."

Jungkook opened his eyes and sighed as he got up and got ready, taking a little over ten minutes.

When he walked out of his room, he saw yoongi waiting by the door. Jungkook wore a similar black oversized hoodie and grey sweatpants. He didn't know where they were going but he didn't have the energy to get dressed up so hopefully, it wasn't anywhere fancy. 

Yoongi gave him a once over and silently walked to the door, expecting jungkook to follow which he did. They met taehyung at the front door who tried to give an encouraging smile to both yoongi and jungkook but neither of them returned the sentiment. 

He sighed inwardly and followed them both to the car. Taehyung sat in the front while jungkook slunk his way into the backseat. He put on his seatbelt and stole a glance at his best friend in the backseat and his hyung who always felt emotions in an intense way. 

Yoongi started the car when he made sure everyone was buckled up and as he was about to pull away, the door opened opposite of jungkook. They all looked at the door and saw none other than hoseok there, dressed up, and got in. "There's no way you're leaving me out of this" 

Yoongi sighed deeply and let hoseok get in. When he was all the way in, he then drove off and started toward the set destination. They didn't know it but he was taking them to a hidden trail that leads into a clear little pond. He and jungkook used to go there when the latter was still in school and needed a breather. They would take a picnic basket and set up on a slab of stone and just talk about anything and nothing all at the same time or they would just enjoy the silence. 

He wanted to remind jungkook of how much he meant to them. He brought tae along because he would try to keep the mood light but hoseok was here as well so maybe he could help with that. 

The whole car ride was silent. Hoseok wanted to ask so many questions but he knew now wasn't the time. He had a lot he wanted to say to jungkook and he wish he had the courage to say it sooner but with everything going on he didn't think it would help any. 

He took a glance at Jungkook and assessed him. He look physically okay to any random person but hoseok was not any random person. He could see the bags under his eyes, the way his usually round cheeks look sunken in and the light from his eyes gone. He noticed the tan color he usually has is faded to a pale white almost rivaling yoongi. 

It brought tears to his eyes to see his baby so defeated but it would take some work to bring him back and hoseok was willing to put in the work. As long as it brought his cuddly big baby back to him. 

Before any of them know knew it, the car was parked and yoongi turned it off as he got out and waited for the others to do the same. When everyone was out, he locked the car and then wordlessly started walking toward the woods. 

Taehyung and hoseok looked at each other before they both looked at jungkook and started following behind yoongi. The trip was silent once again until jungkook stopped when he saw the familiar path and the tree they always passed. 

He remembered every time they would come here, he would hug the tree and thank it for the beautiful scenery. He also planted some flowers which grew into wild sunflowers. He stared at the yellow flowers that would occasionally die and come back as new flowers. 

He looked up and saw yoongi still walking and quickly caught back up with him. When he did, they were at the same clear pond from so many years ago. He stopped in his tracks when he saw yoongi sitting on the same slab of rock with a picnic basket but this time there were fruit sandwiches and a few different bottles of flavored soju. 

He slowly sat down and yoongi immediately passed him a bottle. He slowly took it and looked at it when yoongi started talking.

Yoongi quickly took a swig from the bottle before he said "When you were struggling with the idol life and school life, I always used to bring you here. We would talk about anything or we would just enjoy the silence.." he took another swig before he looked at jungkook "What changed...?"

Jungkook looked down and then looked at his hyungs who were sitting around him. The silence continued before yoongi spoke again "Jungkook what changed..? Do you not trust me enough to talk to me? Do you think I will judge you? I don't understand jungkook"

Yoongi looked down after pulling the hood over his head so no one could see the tears slowly falling down his cheeks. He took a shaky breath and continued on "Jungkook you were there for me when I-" he stopped himself and quickly wiped his tears then started again "Jungkook you were there for me when I needed someone. You saw what the others didn't and you helped me... I thought we had a special bond jungkook..."

Yoongi unwillingly let out a sob and quickly covered his mouth. He had a sneaking suspicion for a while that jungkook was struggling but he didn't think it was this bad. Even still he should've checked on him more, he should've done more. He could've so why didn't he?

Taehyung watched sadly as his hyung broke down. He knew yoongi felt so much and hated showing it and to see him crying hurt his heart. He hesitantly began to rub his back as he cried it out. He watched with sad eyes as the crying male quickly chugged down the bottle of soju and took time to calm down. 

Jungkook sat there staring at the closed bottle in his hand as tears welled up in his eyes. He didn't know he would affect his hyung like this. It's not that he didn't trust him, he just didn't want to burden him. He never wants to burden anyone ever so he keeps to himself. 

He looked up after a few seconds and his heart broke. His hyung was in pain and it was because of him 

"See what you did? Always fucking something up."

Jungkook froze as he heard the voice so clearly it almost sounded real 

"He wouldn't be crying if you weren't here right now."

Jungkook dropped the bottle and stood up, walking deeper into the trees, ignoring hoseok calling for him and the sounds of him rushing to get up to follow the boy. 

"Stop causing all these problems and just disappear jungkook. You'll be doing everyone a favor you-"

The voice was cut off when he felt hoseok grab his wrists tightly. When did he get in front of him and why does he look so sad? He's going to leave soon so he shouldn't look so sad

Right...?
