12. We meet again

"Out of the 100 trainees that took part in the tests today, only sixteen passed. Take a look at the top students"

All sixteen of us were lined up side by side. Half of the people who passed were from our class (Me, James, Travis, Natasha, Ryder, Eva, Daniel and Poppy) and we were proud as our class is made up of 25 students so a lot of us passed.

"However" General Mathew said "this doesn't mean that all of them will be chosen to fight deligents, I and the captains have chosen four capable people from each class to fight a deligent"

"From class one" Captain Hunter started "James Markus was chosen, for showing great ability and strength"

"Lucas Alexander" Captain Lexi pointed at Lucas then looked back down at her sheet "Showed great determination and discipline in the tests"

"and Amelia Cola" Captain Logan rolled his eyes "In need of discipline" he looked slightly at Captain Lexi then back down at his sheet "however, she shows more interest in deligents than fear towards them"

"Lastly Kelsy Blake" Captain Carter said "for showing great skill, problem solving and drive in one to one combat between humans and deligents"

Yes! Who's Da boss? Moi!

Everyone clapped for our class and then the captains started reading out the names of people from other classes. As they read out the names I realized that I was actually going to have to fight a deligent today.

Also, this should guarantee me a spot military taster assignments before I even graduate. With all the extra experience and training I may even be offered a place on a captain's team.

"I got chosen!" Lucas cheered as he pranced around the room in his happy world.

Amelia sunk down into her chair further "I got chosen" Amelia complained

All four of us were putting on our gear and getting ready for the fights. Lucas was excited because he could finally be able to kill a deligent all on his own. Amelia was panicking about what she was going to do. James was completely calm and was trying to explain to Amelia that the Captain Logan or Captain Hunter would probably kill the deligent if she can't fight.

If you didn't realize, General Mathew, Captain Lexi and Captain Carter weren't going to be here for the fights so Captain Hunter and Captain Logan were in charge.

I, on the other hand, was silently checking my gear and sharpening my blades.

The door opened and all three of us turned to see Ryder "They're ready to start". We walked outside and all four classes were watching us. We took turns and just like the Captains expected, they killed the deligents like it was nothing. Everyone cheered when Lucas did a flip and bow after killing his deligent so quickly.

However, we all knew that in a real attack there would be a mixture of intelligent deligents and normal deligents, and it wouldn't be a one on one fight. This practice was quite unrealistic but it still helped people to see what deligents were really like even if it meant that the toilets were full of vomit from panicking people.

"You're up" Captain Hunter said. I nodded and walked my way over to the open space where they would release the deligent. Some of the military workers brought out the deligent and untied its elephant hand. I stood in my fighting position and they took the cloth up from over it's head.

I ran up to it ready to strike with my knife until I saw the scar.

-Flashback-

"Kelsy, Angela! Run and find Jamie!" My Dad's hand shook as he gripped the knife. The deligent lunged to sink his teeth into my dad but he dodged out the way and sliced the deligent's face diagonally.
