ROAR!

Is he crazy?!

I had woken up hear the terrifying sound of a bear roaring. I grabbed my knife and ran outside to see people are standing still totally freaked out that they cant even move. However James the fearless attracted the black bear's attention by banging on the gates. The bear turns around and runs towards him. James pulls out his gun and shoots. His face totally pales and he keeps pressing the trigger but no bullet comes out.

General K throws James out the way just before the bear got him. The bear hits its head against the gate and General K takes this opportunity to jump on it to tackle it down. He was literally crazy. You can't take down a bear with your bear hands. The bear runs around roaring like crazy. General K cant hold on anymore and is thrown into the air.

Poppy and Eva quickly use their team work and gear to restrain the bear with some ropes around it neck. The bear stands up on two feet and throws Poppy totally off guard. The bear hits Poppy in mid air into the tree's dense branches. Eva freezes up and runs towards Poppy.

The bear chases Eva and that's when I snap out of my fear. I run toward the bear and throw my knife at its head. The handle hits the bears head. I mentally slap myself as it turns around to face me. It chases after me and I run toward the safety of the base. Stupidly I trip over a rock and fall to the floor. The bear is right over me, it stands up on two feet and roars. I grab for sharp object. I finally feel a heavy thick branch or log and point it upwards. As the bear comes down off its two feet to attack me, the log stabs it right through its heart. Blood runs down the log and on my fingers. The weight of the bear starts to come down on me and I feel the log start to press against my ribs.

Sargent K quickly kicked the bear over and lends me a hand to stand up.

I look around to see everyone totally amazed. The captains and General had just arrived and saw everything from afar. Slowly the claps started to go around and then it turned into a full blast of celebration.

I smiled to myself. That was crazy and I hope never to have to do that again.

After the one on one fights in our tests a few days ago, people who hadn't been chosen to fight solo were put into groups to fight against a deligent. Even with the comfort of having team members fighting too, over 30% of the students dropped out of the military to join either the police, boarder defense or go back to civilian life. Meaning that our class had about 21 training soldiers when it used to have 30 like the rest of the classes.

"Silence!" General Mathew shouted

Everyone stopped clapping in seconds.

"This bear was a test" He looked around at everyone "All of you that did nothing are not fit for military training"

My eyebrows knitted together. I thought that we had already been doing training so what is he on about?

General Mathew realized how confused everyone was "I guess Sargent K didn't inform you about what happens after the 60 days of basic training?"

Sargent K smiled evilly to himself "I wanted a surprise for my students, so far Blake and Markus have earned a place in the next course of training. If you want to continue training, you need prove yourself before the end of these two days"

"Yesterday, those tests was me and the captains seeing how hard we have to push this years trainees, those tests was the beginning of 10 weeks of hell" General Mathew held up his finger before anyone could complain "If you want. This 10 week training is done with the normal training however it isn't pointless. It is proven to increase your chance of survival in the first year from 34% to 71%"
