"At this rate you'll kill more civilians then deligents" Lucas rolled his eyes at me
"Trust me; I have better aim when I am aiming at you, so be afraid-"
"Blake!" Sargent K shouted my name. Both I and Lucas covered our ears, his shouting was louder than the guns firing.
Sargent K crossed his arm and shook his head in disapproval "Sorry sir!" I called back over the ammunition firing. It was a good thing that these guns were designed to make as little noise as possible or I would be deaf by now. I turned back to shoot the target.
All I saw was crazy ginger hair before there was an almighty scream. All the guns stopped firing, there was just silence. My mouth dropped open and Lucas stared at me with big ovals for eyes. I turned to James who standing to the other side of me. He didn't look surprised at all, he was emotionless and just looked down at me with his dark scary eyes like he was expecting this to happen.
I threw my gun to a side and ran up to Amelia who was crawling on the floor in pain "Oh my gosh, I am so sorry!" I apologized. She looked up at me with tears streaming from her face.
"I-I Lo-"
"This is exactly why you pay attention to class Kelsy!" Sargent K interrupted, storming his way over to us.
I frowned. It wasn't my fault she stood right in front of me.
"Where are you hurt? Wait why are you crawling like that?"
Amelia wiped her tears "I lost my glasses again!" suddenly she burst into tears again.
My mouth dropped open. The whole class was speechless. I looked up at my target to see a bullet right through the middle of its head. I had finally shot the target and Amelia decided that now was the time to be 'herself'?!
Sargent K wiped his hand down his face in frustration "So you're saying you didn't even get shot?"
"What? No! Or I would be crying" Amelia rolled her teary eyes and placed her glasses back on.
Everything went silent as we all stared at Amelia in disbelief. She didn't even get hurt. She cried because she lost her glasses.
"Wow" Ryder mumbled "She gets more stupid and weird everyday"
"Really?" Amelia piped up "Is that a good thing?"
Ryder's eyes widened when he realized that Amelia heard and answered him "Ermm..." he dragged out not knowing how to reply as Amelia looked genuinely happy.
Sargent K ignored Ryder's comment and walked away "Continue as usual class, and Amelia" He turned around, Amelia smiled brightly waiting for her award or something "Do five laps around the camp after class for walking in front of the firing range"
Her smile dropped "Oh"
I shook my head in disbelief.
"Lucky you, we actually thought you shot her" Lucas patted my head
I took his hand off my hair and picked my gun back off the floor "Like I said, I aim better when-"
"Blake!" I jumped at the Sargent's voice
"Sorry Sir" I shouted and turned back to the targets to practice my aim for real now.
-
"Class 1"
"Yes sir!" We shouted
"This here" Sergent K pointed to the huge mountain before us "is an artificial mountain, it was created many years back for this type of training" We all looked up at the rocky mountain that reached the sky. George lifted his hand to ask a question "Yes?"
