"Throw me a spoon!"
༛༛ ༛ ༛༺༻༛ ༛ ༛༛GRIDDYS DINER is where I would always go when I needed a quick pick me up. A donut doesn't hurt anyone every now and again.
After my small breakdown, I washed my face and cleared it of any signs of tears. But, to my dismay, I know that Agnes always notices when I've been crying even if I try to clear up the evidence.
I opened the door after taking a long, deep breath and stepped out into the outside world, a new woman making its way into the world. This new woman is an emotional wreck.
Hopping into the taxi I just heckled, I spoke the address and made my way to the diner, flicking through the apps on my phone as I did so.
Finally arriving, I gave the driver his money and strode my way towards the best place on earth, Griddy's.
Opening the heavy door, there seemed to be no one inside. But, as soon as I sat down my luck had ran out. A disgusting face walked into the shop, making me grimace and bite my tongue for the time being. "Didn't expect to see you here." He spoke as he sat.
"Yeah, well, I was trying to not think about the impending doom that will occur in 8 days so I came to get a coffee and a donut." The boy just sighed, his eyes downcast to the bell.
He started ringing the bell, two rings. As he was watching the back door to see if a server would come out, a man came inside and sat down to the left of Five.
Agnes finally arrived, apologising for taking so long.
"Sorry, sink was clogged." She let out a soft chuckle. "So, what'll it be?" She asked the middle aged man to Five's left. "Uhhh... Gimme a chocolate eclair." He asked, watching as Agnes wrote down his order.
"Can I get the kid a... glass of milk or something?" She hadn't noticed me yet, so she must've been talking about Five.
"The kid wants coffee. Black." Five spoke, his voice monotone and his face stony. "Cute kid." Agnes smiled awkwardly. That was until Five pulled out the creepiest smile known to man. That must've made her real uncomfortable.
"And what about you dear?" Agnes asked, turning to me. Her face instantly lit up when she recognised me "Elle! It's good to see you. You haven't been here for quite the while. What'll it be today?" She lifted her pen to write my order down quickly.
"Just my usual." I smiled softly at her, my eyes drooping slightly. "We'll talk about this." She pointed up and down at me, "later." I nodded, grateful I atleast had her.
Agnes quickly got to work on everyone's orders, starting up the coffee machine and finding the foods me and the man wanted.
Five turned to the man, an analysing look on his face. Sighing, he looked to Agnes, to me (for a split second) and then back to the man.
"I don't remember this place being such a shithole." He spoke, making my eyes widen. Was he really speaking to some random man?
"I used to come here as a kid. Used to sneak out with my brothers and sisters and we'd eat donuts till' we puked." He reminisced, the middle aged man beside him looking disturbed. He thought Five was just a regular 16 year old dressed in a wacky uniform.
