"I HEARD A RUMOUR"

"It's gonna be okay."

ME AND FIVE HAD JUST arrived at the academy, heading towards Klaus' room was the first order of business.

Knocking on the door, the first thing I saw was Klaus on his bed attempting to knit. "Hey, get up. We're going." The boy ordered, Klaus startled at his sudden appearance.

"Where?" The man questioned, still messing around with the ball of yarn. "To save the world." Five said, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. "Oh, is that all? Great." Klaus sighed, he was really taking this whole 'saving the world' stuff well, huh?

"So, Pogo said Dad killed himself to get us all back together, right?" Five paced, I just stood awkwardly at the door. "Yeah, so?"

"So it got me thinking. I had to jump to the future to figure out when it happened, but Dad, he can't time travel. So how'd the crazy bastard actually know to kill himself a week before the end of the world?" Five was slightly frantic, this whole thing must've been confusing. It definitely confused me.

"Well, you know..." Klaus tried to reply, but was cut off by Five. "Don't answer. That was purely rhetorical."

"Truth is, our whole lives, he's been telling us we'd save the world from an impending apocalypse." I nodded along. "That does sound confusing. Anymore tell-tale signs that he knew way before the events of you jumping occurred? Klaus, anything?" I asked, walking further into the room.

"Not really. I always thought he just said that to scare us into doing the dishes." He grunted as he pulled on his shoes. "Me too." Five agreed, "But what if the old man really knew it was going to happen?"

"Yeah, but knew how?" Klaus spoke my internal thoughts into the open. "No idea." Is all Five said. Deciding to express my thoughts again, I spoke. "But the fact remains. You all came home. His planned worked. Now you're all slowly working to figuring out who or what causes the apocalypse. He did it." Klaus sniffed his shirt making me grimace as I talked.

"Oh, yeah? What, like, the three of us?" Klaus went along with my small speech, pulling on his shirt. "Uh, well, ideally, no, but..." We all left Klaus' room, walking into the hallway. "gotta work with what I've got."

As we walked, running was heads heading towards us. I paused. It was Diego. "Where the hell have you been, Batman?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. "Jail." My face dropped. Didn't expect that. "Long story. Where's Luther?" The black-spandex wearing man asked, rushing to grab things. "Haven't seen him since breakfast." Five answered. "Yeah. Two days until the world ends, he picks a great time to drop off the grid." Klaus sighed deeply, swaying in place.

Diego pulling on his harnesses as he let out a brief curse. Clipping it into place he told us what was up. "Allison is in danger." We all looked to each other in concern.

"What? I thought she was still here?" I managed to get out. Diego shook his head, checking if all his knives were in place. "Nope. She went to find Vanya. It's dangerous, I had to go because I got arrested. Now, let's go find Luther before any real damage gets done." He spoke as we rushed through the hallways of the house.

Walking into a bar, we found Luther at a table drinking alone.

"Trying a little hair of the dog, are we? Hm?" Klaus asked the burly man, the larger male groaning out a, "Leave me alone." As he wallowed in self-pity. "Give us a minute." Diego waved us off, sitting down next to his brother. "Okay, come on. Maybe they'll brood each other to death." Klaus led us away, letting Diego have the privacy he needs to let Luther know about Allison's whereabouts.

Leaning on a table not too far away, we let them talk.

"I understand Luther is annoyed at the fact his time on the moon was for nothing, but the world is ending in two days! Even I'm not wallowing in self pity and I have quite the piteous life." I muttered, Five chuckling from beside me.

Turning to the boy, I asked him a question that's been on my mind since he got injured. "Do you have a limp now? I didn't even notice properly until just now- are you sure you should be out?" He just shook his head and smirked, "As you said, the worlds ending in two days. I need to up and moving so we can stop it. Im not just gonna lay around while you and my idiot siblings run around trying to solve something you know barely anything about." I nodded in agreement, Klaus making a noise of offence at the fact Five indirectly called him an idiot.

After a few minutes of Diego and Luther talking, Luther raised his voice. "You should've led with that!" Standing quickly we all made our way to the door.

Now we were driving. This day just moves by so fast, doesn't it?

The car was silent, I was sat between Diego and Luther, but was squished next to Diego was Luther leaned between the two front seats, Five and Klaus being in them, and speaking.

"Hey. Can you go any faster?" He complained, Five's eyes remaining on the road as he replied, "Ask me again, and I'll burn you with the cigarette lighter." But as soon as he finished saying that, the car accelerated.

"Luther." I got his attention, the man's eyes looking to me. "It's gonna be okay." I smiled softly up at him, reassuring him Allison would be fine.

"I know but- I just can't help it." I nodded. "I know, I know, but Allison is a strong woman from what I've seen so she will be fine. And if she is hurt we'll get her out of there asap, capeesh?" He chuckled, letting the worry fade away a little.

"Capeesh."
