ꕺ WE ONLY SEE EACHOTHER AT WEDDINGS AND FUNERALS ꕺ"He and I were friends at one point in time."
༛༛ ༛ ༛༺༻༛ ༛ ༛༛ME AND THE BOY walked down the street after leaving the donut shop. He swiftly got into a car and turned on the ignition, looking to me. "You getting in?" He asked, his eyebrow slightly raised. "Uh, yeah. Yeah I am." Getting into the car, I turned to him.
"Where exactly are we going?" I queried. I didn't want to be clueless about anything. "My sister's apartment. Vanya." He spoke plainly, starting up the car and driving off.
The car was filled with an unusual silence. I guess we were better at talking through letters. "Since you're gonna help me now, I'm sure you want to ask some questions. Go ahead, I'll answer them." He didn't seem the least bit regretful of what he'd said, so I'm assuming he really meant it.
"How do you know about this apocalypse?" He sighed, looking at me and then back onto the road again. "I lived through it." My eyes widened at his response. I wasn't gonna pity him, I knew he hated pity.
"Did you see me?" I was curious to know whether I had survived or if my body could've been salvaged. "No. You weren't there." I didn't believe him, but I didn't want to press. I'm sure he had good reasoning as to why he didn't want to tell me the truth. I could already tell this was a hard subject for him, prying would only make his trauma resurface.
"I never got to ask you." Five spoke after a beat of silence. "Why do you still look 17?" I just let out a long breath and looked at him. "Do you want to know the whole truth or part of the truth?"
"Whole truth. I told you everything, so now you have to tell me everything." His green eyes locked on my purple ones, his stare burning holes into my pupils. "Okay." I muttered, looking down at my lap for what seemed like the thousandth time.
"You already know I have powers, but you only know about my telekinesis." He nodded along. "I have another. Time pockets. I can open time pockets as a form of storage, as well as use them to jump from place to place. They're almost like your spacial jumps."
"When you left, I would constantly open time pockets to read the letters you wrote to me. I did it as a reminder that you left me, and that you betrayed me. I used it as a way to fuel my anger towards you." I chuckled a small chuckle and turned to look at him, "but really, I was doing it because I missed you. A few months after you left I'm assuming I placed my own body in a time pocket, preventing my body from ageing. Now, I look like a 17 year old, when really I'm 30."
Five didn't speak a word after that, only muttering a small 'fascinating' and continuing to drive.
Soon, we got to an apartment building. It looked very small and quaint, homely even.
"So, what floor is she on?" I got out of the car and turned to Five for his response. "The second floor. I'm gonna jump you into the apartment since you don't know which one it is."
He made his way over to me, locking the car before grabbing my arm and jumping so an apartment. Landing on both feet, I yanked my arm out of his grip and made my way to the bathroom.
"Where are you going?" I popped my head around the corner to reply, "I'm finding you a first aid kit. Wouldn't want that cut to get infected, or to keep leaking blood." He simply just nodded and let me get on with my own thing.
