VANYA CAME BACK with three mugs of coffee, letting Five explain further his apocalyptic experiences.

"I survived on scraps, canned food, cockroaches, anything I could find." At this point I was actually feeling sorry for him. But, was I going to let him know that? No.

Five breathed a quick chuckle out of his nose before speaking again, about twinkies. "You know that rumour that twinkies have an endless shelf life? Well, it's total bullshit." He sipped his coffee as a small smirk came and went from his face in a split second.

"I can't even imagine..." Vanya tried to sympathise, but I could tell it was hard for her. From what I heard from Five when we were younger, Vanya never had powers. She was the ordinary one of the seven children.

"You'd do whatever it takes it survive... or, you die. So, we adapted." Five looked quite... upset? I don't know, some form of sadness took over him while talking about the apocalypse. I was definitely starting to feel sorry for him now. My only question right now was, who in the everloving fuck was 'we'? "Whatever the world threw at us, we found a way to overcome it." He finished.

"We?" Vanya voiced my thoughts, and I'm grateful she did because I was curious too. "You got anything stronger?" Five asked, holding up his mug and completely avoiding the question.

Vanya nodded, taking his mug back to the kitchen and grabbing a cup and filling it with some form or alcohol. "You want some too, Estelle?" She asked from the kitchen.
