Himura never would've guessed that their journey to championship would end so abruptly like this. It was a nice ride. Wish she could experience it all again. The memories she made were very nice and she felt safer.
"Uwahh, Hitoka-chan!!"
There was her signal.
She quickly walked to where the cries were and found the younger managers, specifically Akahana clinging on to Yachi as she tried to calm her down.
"Akahana." She jumped away from the shorter blonde and found Himura standing right behind her. A little hiccup escaped out of her as she tried to wipe her tears away. She tried to look professional in front of her senpai but it was no use as she started bawl against Himura's chest. Thankfully the team jackets were waterproof.
"I'm...sorry for that..." She sniffed her nose and wiped it with a tissue inside her pocket.
Akahana felt a hand rubbing on her head, it was Himura petting her. She saw that genuine soft smile she had as she was pulled closer to a hug. A first time for her. As Himura said: "It's okay, continue." Her tears started pouring once again. "I don't want it to end." She cried softly into her chest. Himura could only comfort her.
"Sara-chan, Akahana-chan."
They both peeked to their side and found Kiyoko with the smile she had throughout the time they had together. She grabbed Yachi's hand and giggled. "Thank you for the game." She chuckled.
Himura felt her cheeks warming up, her legs aching, and her eyes watering. Akahana looked up and saw profusely crying Himura was. Hearing those words directed to her was something she wasn't ready for. She knew the match would end with one of them losing but she never expect it to be this painful.
"...thank you...for the game."
She grabbed Akahana's hand and made them bow to the Karasuno managers. Their tears still streaming down their cheeks as they continued to cry, even got them to be comforted by the two.
Walking back to where the team was resting, Himura kept Akahana in check. Wondering if she was alright and if she needed to go cry again. She has comforted her in the past but this time was different, she understood what she was feeling at the moment and what it felt like to be standing outside with nothing to do but to watch.
"Himuraaa!! Akahanaaa!!"
The both of them looked up and saw their friends together, clapping their hands and cheering. Even though they've lost, their spirits weren't some kind of thing to throw away.
Chou gave Akahana a reassuring nod and smile, that made her cry again.
"See what you did just then, Chou?! She's crying!" Hoshiko scowled.
Chou only rolled her eyes, "As if."
"Akahanaaa-chaaan!!" The first years called out and ran to her. They were greeted by the sight of their manager and friend still choking on her tears upon seeing them. "You guys!!" She bawled again, ran up to them and hugged them all.
Himura watched as she giggled. Seeing the five of them being together was something she dreamed of. Growing the team together and getting them into nationals once she and her friends retired would be dope to see.
"A-Akahana-chan, are you okay?!!?" Inuoka and Lev panicked, trying to get her to cheer up.
"Do you need another hug?" Shibayama tried to talk to her but it was no use since she was still bawling her eyes away.
Teshiro hummed before looking around the arena. Himura noticed how he started rummaging his bag and pulled out a stuffed Vabo-chan he bought yesterday. It was for his younger sister but he guessed it would be work to calm her down.
