⚠️TW!!! Slight child abuse and depression!!⚠️Hi everyone! This will be a longer chapter since the last one was so short. I hope you all enjoy 💖
*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*-Flashback to 4 years ago-
"Hey y/n! Teach me volleyball!" b/n exclaimed. You were laying down on your bed playing video games on your phone."Be down in a second!" you yelled to your little brother. He was your best friend and you wanted to protect him at all costs, especially from your mother...
You slipped your sneakers on a few minutes later and grabbed your f/c volleyball. You head down the stairs and turn the corner only to notice b/n standing quite a distance from your mother and father. They were arguing as usual.
You never really knew why they bickered so much, but it happened more frequently after b/n was born. Papa was always away for his work and postpartum depression really hit your mother this time around. She was always so angry to the point she would verbally and physically abuse your little brother. He was only 4 years younger than you.
You grabbed b/n by the wrist and quickly ran outside to the backyard before your parents could see you. You placed your brother 6 feet in front of you. Tossing the ball lightly in the air, you smile softly while watching the ball and speak to your brother.
"I'm going to teach you how to serve today. It gets easier as you practice. There are two types of serves: overhand and underhand." You practiced serving with b/n for about an hour. Once it got dark, you both went inside for dinner. Papa just ordered pizza as he had an important meeting to attend to.
You looked outside to see both parents' cars gone. "Alone yet again," you sighed.
-Present time-
You took a deep breath and started walking to your high school. As you're heading down the street, you occasionally glance around and notice not one human being.You furrow your eyebrows again as you see hs/n in the distance. Sure is creepy when everything around it is still, you thought.
You got up to the gymnasium and tug open the door. Luckily it was unlocked, despite no one being here.
You walk in and dropped your duffel bag on the side of the court. You set up the volleyball net. Maybe practicing some serves will help your mind at ease.
You set up a small water bottle on the other side of the net. Imagining your brother in place of the bottle, you start serving.
After about 30 minutes of hits and misses, you take a seat next to your bag and stretch. Your team wasn't there with you and your phone wasn't working so you had no one to talk to.
After stretching, you grab your things and head down to a nearby convenience store. You were hungry.
You walk inside and to no surprise there was no one here.
"Free food for me." you laughed.
You start grabbing snacks, drinks, necessities and such. Something tells you you won't be going home any time soon.
After you stuffed your bag with many things, you head outside. You weren't sure on the time since your watch died, but you estimated it to be around 4pm. You grabbed some snacks out of your bag and started eating.
You were just walking around when the sun started to set. You decided to take a rest so you set your bag up against a wall of a building and laid down to close your eyes.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You were suddenly awoken by a big, bright white screen on the billboard in front of you. On the screen says [GAME]. You drift your squinted eyes down slightly to the building right across from you. It seemed to be some sort of movie theatre. You rubbed your eyes gently to fully wake up then look straight ahead again.You slowly stand up and grab your bag. You head inside the theatre, past the ticket booth. At the concession stand, you notice a big arrow pointing to the direction of Theatre 3. Cautiously, you head to the theatre and walk inside.
Right in front of the big screen is a decent-sized gap between the screen and the first row of seats. In the middle of the gap you see a table with phones laid out. There were only two left.
Slowly you pick up one of the phones and turn it on. Surprisingly, the screen lights up indicating that it's on. Your eyes widened a little bit as the phone dinged and a weirdly cheerful voice spoke.
"Please wait for the game to commence. Currently, there are five participants. One minute and thirty seconds remaining until registration closes."
You dart your eyes up from the phone and look all around you. You notice a couple of girls by the wall to your left. You couldn't make out every detail of them as the only lights on in the theatre were the overhead ones on the wall. What they look like to you was one of the girls having black hair just past her shoulders to her back and bangs swept to the side. Her hair looked to be pulled back into a half-up half-down hair style.
The other girl has black hair just above her shoulders with her bangs swept to her side. She had her arm interlocked with the other girl. They seemed really close.
After studying them, you look over to your right to a man with a suit on. His hair was curly but neat. He was sort of buff, like he would work out maybe twice a week. He caught you looking and smiled to you. You gave a half smile back to him and looked straight ahead of you to see another man.
This man had blonde-almost yellow-hair spiked up. He had tattoos down his arms and up his neck. He didn't intimidate you but you were still weary of him.
Finally, another girl walks in like a lost puppy. She notices the table and grabs the last phone. She turns it on and it dings, just like yours. Her hair was a light brown and up in pigtails with bangs. She looked up at you and had a worried look on her face.
Looks like I'm not the only one left in Tokyo.
Suddenly, everyone's phones ding simultaneously. The female voice chimes in.
"Registration is now closed. The game will now commence. Game, 'Musical Chairs.' Difficulty: Three of Spades."
There were confused murmurs among the crowd.
"Rule. Find your corresponding seat within the time limit. Your seat number will appear on your phone screen. Example: C-10. You will have 30 seconds to find your appropriate seat. There will be obstacles blocking your path. You may jump or climb over these, but you may not jump over rows or seats. Once the timer reaches zero, the obstacles will send spikes down the rows. If you are not seated it is Game Over. The obstacles will pop up randomly. There will be 10 rounds. Weapons and violence are not allowed. Pushing someone out of their seat is not allowed. Game Start."
This will be interesting. You took a deep breath as your seat number popped up on your phone.
G-7.
