Sera had been called to Chicago to help her friends out with a few things, she needed to be back on the island in three days because Kono was getting married. The problem with that was she didn't have a date. Sure she and Steve had sex but they weren't talking about their feelings or actually talking in general. After their sexual encounter, she had to leave to help her friend with a few cases so they didn't really get a chance to talk, but nonetheless, Kono was getting married, and come hell or high water she was going to the wedding. But now she was helping Jay with a case they were swamped on.
"Tariq's phone records?" O asks.
"I'm into it with the service provider. Subpoena was drafted, signed off on, and dropped. So we should have it in a few hours."
Voight nods as Jay thinks for a moment. "I actually have a friend who just so happens to be in the town for the week, can get you a lead on anything and anyone has a toe in just about every government agency known to man."
Voight nods approvingly again. "How fast can they get here?"
Jay shrugs. "The quicker I text the quicker they come."
"Go. In the meantime, we got one really big question to answer first. Tariq Boland's identity was supposed to be sealed. Check into the grand jury, court reporters, ASA's office, whoever had access to his name or a motive to leak it, 'cause somebody figured it out.
"Ken Amis, the head of Tariq's security detail, is on his way up," Kev explains.
"Al, you and me."
Meanwhile, Jay was in the locker room calling Sera. Sera was on the pier taking in the view. When her phone rings. She fishes it out of her pocket smirking at the caller I.D.
"Jay Halstead to what do I owe this pleasure?"
"Sera Daine, I heard you were in my beautiful City."
She chuckles. "Uh yeah been here for almost a week, So go ahead and ask me if I know there's something you want."
He laughs, "What makes you think I need a favor?" Sera just makes a face before scoffing. Which makes Jay laugh more. "I'll explain everything when you get here."
