Handsome Drum Major Must Flirt

"Welcome all students and guests to our QU Open-U!"

The host opened the event with a welcoming line, receiving an overwhelming cheering response on the university football field. The amphitheatre was full of people - including students, alumni, guests and even journalists. If I didn't force myself to wake up at 5 a.m., I wouldn't be able to get a seat. Even though I came very early, I only managed to be in the third row from the front.

I took the video camera and the tripod that I borrowed from my mom. I was planning to record P'Newt's performance as a drum major. My phone was also fully charged, with a power bank and charging equipment at the ready. I was such a perfect Cute Boy page admin.

"Without further ado, let's begin the ceremony!" The female host announced. She was the Star of the Faculty of Communication Arts.

"Alright! It's time for the most anticipated event..." followed by the male host, P'Pae.

"Please welcome the marching band and our drum majors!"

The announcement was welcomed by fervent cheers. The marching band divided itself into smaller sections for the parade. The first section marched out, led by the lead drum major, followed by the next drum major and the second section. Imagine how grand it was for the band to have nine drum majors.

Everyone seemed to be very excited to see the band. Everyone knew that our university's marching band was from the Faculty of Music. They were very famous and were champions in a number of contests, so it also gained attention from the media. I came to this event last year as well. Even though P'Newt wasn't a drum major back then, I still enjoyed the performance.

Each year, they would use a main theme derived from popular movies or games.

Last year, using Star Wars as the main theme, the marching band played the movie franchise's soundtrack numbers. Even the drum majors were dressed in Jedi costumes and the sceptres were made to look like lightsabers. The audience really loved the show.

I was looking forward to what this year's theme would be.

The lead section marched out bearing the skull and crossbones black flag, a typical pirate flag. The lead drum major wore a pirate captain uniform, and the sceptre was adapted into a sword, but it still retained the shape of a drum major sceptre.

The musicians of the marching band wore sailor uniforms, and among the sections with the flag holders and the cannons, the props were just as eye-catching.

I was looking for P'Newt and wondering how handsome he would look today. P'Newt was already handsome in both university and lab uniforms. How much better looking would he be in a pirate outfit like that?

Finally, there he was, leading the last section.

'Holygod, I'm dying! Why must P'Newt be this handsome as a pirate? My heart is willing to be stolen!'

Each drum major was wearing similar colours and tones but different styles of pirate costumes. Some were wild, some were elegant. The female drum majors wore skirts instead of pants. For P'Newt's costume, it looked like a combination of pirate clothes and a mediaeval admiral uniform, which made him look more like a prince but with a pirate hat. P'Newt was indeed devastatingly handsome.
