Thyra's POV

I sigh relaxedly while I lie back on Midnight's back. I just went on patrol with Snotlout but now we've neared the end, I told him he could go back early and I would finish it. It's not like something is happening right now. Viggo must still be recovering from the stolen gold, if he manages to keep his hunters without being able to pay them, he surely has no time to attack us. This means it's fairly quiet and calms around here.

I look up when I hear squawking and move aside just in time to avoid a Terrible Terror flying at me. I look over my shoulder to see he's heading to the edge. I sigh and nudge Midnight to follow him. 'Let's go girl, might be important mail.'

We follow the tiny dragon until it lands on Hiccup's arm. I dismount Midnight and she jumps away to play with Toothless. The twins decide this is a good idea to bother me. They swing their arms around my shoulder.

'Ello-hay.' Tuffnut snorts before opening his mouth again. I immediately push him away, not even bothering with their weird behavior.

I hear Astrid trying, and failing, to hide her laugh at my reaction while Tuffnut stares at me in shock. 'No spect-rey, snort. No spect-rey.' He shakes his head but I focus on Hiccup.

'It's an urgent message from the Defenders of the Wing-' Wait what? Aren't they at war with Viggo? Are we allies with them? '-Mala needs help.' Hiccup finishes. I frown. Okay, I guess we are.

Clearly, we're also good friends with them because we're flying pretty fast toward their island. Hiccup seems to forget I haven't been here that long and I have no idea what's awaiting us. I try to catch up with him to ask but he's too busy scanning the incoming island.

'Alright, gang. Fan out and keep your eyes peeled. We have no idea what we're flying into.'

Well that's true, I have no clue about what's awaiting us but I don't see smoke, I also don't hear screaming so it can't be that bad, right?

When we fly past people they start yelling things at each other. 'They're here!'

'Welcome!'

Great, now they're yelling at us too. What are these guys? Ninjas? They are covered in black from head to toe. The crowd continues to cheer while we land in front of the two people that stand out. One of them has gold in her outfit, I assume she's Mala. The guy beside her is Throk, I remember him from the day I saved Hiccup from those bounty hunters.

I guess it makes sense that the Defenders of the Wing are our friends if they were willing to send someone important to save Hiccup. I'm still shocked though by how everything is built. I kind of expected there to be more dragons, or at the very least birds with wings. Yet I see nothing but houses and a statue of an Eruptodon

'Hiccup Haddock, thank the ancients you received our message.' Mala speaks while walking forward. She looks worried.

'Mala, Throk, what happened? Is it the hunters?'

If I would stand closer, I would punch Hiccup on his shoulder like Astrid does so many times. Of course it's not hunters, there are no arrows, no fighting, no ship, and no damage. Hunters are too much of idiots to leave a place unharmed.

'No, something much worse.' Mala looks at me doubtingly for a second before looking at Throk, who nods. She then decides to lead us to something, it's high and on a pillar with fire. It looks a little bit like a rock, yet you can recognize it as an Eruptodon egg if you look close enough.

'Ha-ha! This would appear to be an egg-mergency. Or as some might call it, emergency egg-may.' Tuffnut snorts again.

Mala looks just as confused as me. 'Has something happened to Tuffnut?'
