Scott's POV
After I talked with Mark about him storming off, I promised him that he could go with Mitch and I to our next ultrasound appointment for some guy time.
I went back downstairs to talk to Mitch who was cleaning up from breakfast. He turned around, "Hey? Did you talk to him?" I nodded, "Yeah, I'll tell you about it later." Mitch agreed and went back to the dishes. I looked at my watch, 12:10, "Shit!" Mitch turned around dropping a plate on the ground, "Oh jeez. You can't scare me like that. Why'd you yell?"
I ran to the kitchen to grab the broom, "I have to go get the flowers, "I didn't realize what time it was." Mitch put his hand on my shouler, "It's okay, I'll ask Ditie to help me with this." She was sitting in the living room on her Ipod.
I looked at her and back at Mitch, "Are you sure?" Mitch giggled, "I'll be fine, just go grab her flowers and I'll have this house, spic and span by the time you're back." I gave him a kiss and ran out the get the flowers.
Mitch's POV
I heard Scott come back down the stairs after talking with Mark and he said he would tell me about it later. I was cleaning a syrup covered plate when Scott screamed shit, from behind me.
I quickly spun around droppng the plate at my feet, the plate shattered when it hit the floor, "Dammit! Why did you yell?" Scott said he had to go pick up the flowers and didn't realize what time it was. I told him to go get the flowers and I would have Aphroditie help me clean up the mess.
She didn't even notice the plate had shattered. "Ditie?" I waited looking over at the living room, "Ditie?" She bobbed her head to the music when finally I screamed, "APHRODITIE BLUE!"
She took her earbuds out and looked over at me, "Why are you yelling?" I sighed, "You know the rule, one earbud at all timeS when your in the house or at school. Anyway come help me with this plate."
She got off the couch and looked at the glass on the floor, "You didn't get cut did you?" "No, I'm fine. Can you just hold the dustpan please?" She kneeled down and steadied the dustpan while I swept the glass.
She paused, "Where's Papa?" "He ran to get Kaity's flowers so we can visit her grave later today. Do you wanna go with us?" She smiled, "Sure. She's still my baby sister. I wouldn't miss it." I smiled amlost to the point of crying, "Come here." She set down the dustpan and I pulled her in around my huge belly, "I love you. You and Kaity will always be my daddies girls."
Scott's POV
I ran to get the flowers that Mitch had ordered for Kaitlyn. The florist seemed like a really nice guy, "Hi, how can I help you today?" I paused, "Hi, you should have a flower order under the name Grassi or Grassi-Hoying?" He smiled, "The rose and lily bouquet?"
I grinned, "That's it." The florist handed me the vase, "If you don't mind me asking, it's a beautiful bouquet. Who's receiving this beauty?" I took a deep breath, "My daughter. She passed away a few months ago. Today's her birthday." The florist grabbed the vase very carefully from me and hugged me, "I'm so sorry. I've never had anyone come in to buy flowers for a loved ones birthday if they've passed on."
I was surprised, "Really? I would think it be quite common." "Here, next time you come in. You'll recieve 25% off your purchase on any bouquet, just because of this kind of purchase. And again I'm sorry for your loss." I sighed, "You don't have to do this. I loved my daughter, I just want her to have a good birthday even though she's not here."
He put his fingers to my chest, "But that love is still there, because you created her and she passed away before her time. Don't cry because she's not here, cry because you know she's happy that you're celebrating her life instead of mouring it."
