School // Lunch . 📍 Ajà's POV
𝐀𝐧𝐝 he was talm bout some "we been more than friends." I said, on FaceTime with my older sister on my dad's side, Jaylani.
Jaida & Janae had a meeting with some teachers about a project, I think. Instead of walking around trying to 'make conversation' with people;
I ordered some food earlier , put my AirPods on & FaceTimed my sister.
"Ohh, have y'all talked since then?" Jaylani asked. "No, shits mad awkward now.." I said changing my tone.
She laughed before saying, "Sey if you like him & he like you, what's the problem?" I rolled my eyes "I don't know Lani! Ion' do this boy stuff and you know this!"
"And I know for a fact that ion' wanna be stressed out over a boy either." Jaylani laughed but quickly
stopped & rested her hand on her forehead , "Ima' pick you up so we can talk some more but I'm finna walk into prison."
She said, referring to her job. I nodded & said alright, hanging up after.
I sat at the table by myself for a few minutes since I went to lunch earlier than usual. As time passed the lunchroom began to fill up.
I turned around & seen Ddot smiling ear-to-ear, walking towards me.
"Yo!" he said, holding his hand out, waiting for him to dap him up. "Yo, you ain't eating the lunch today?" I asked, returning the 'handshake' & laughing.
He smack his lips & mugged me which made me laugh even harder. "Where Jaida at?"
"I think she in a meeting right now. You seen Notti?" I hadn't seen him in our shared classes so I figured he didn't come to school.
Ddot sat down across from me, eating a bag of chips in the process, "Yea he in the gym wit' Kalaisha right now."
- Once I got to Jaida's house I headed to the bathroom & freshened up from school. Once I was finished, I got a text from my
mom saying that she would be gone for a few more days & an Apple Pay notification.
𝐀 horn loudly honked outside of Jaida's home. It wasn't Jaida's mom, obviously since she was in the house with me. Yet, I couldn't tell if it was my sister either.
The windows were super tinted — the driver seat window began to roll down, slowly. I backed away from the window, making sure I was still able to see who it was.
I seen my sister smiling really hard & waving frantically. I smiled back & started to grab my things. The front door opened & closed, Ms. Fletcher walked into the house humming.
"Mami my sister's outside." I said giving her a hug.
"Okay sweetie be careful out there, love you!" I she said, giving me a quick kiss on the cheek. I nodded "love you too!" & walked out, closing the door behind me.
My sister gave me a tight hug, reaching over the armrest. "Awww I missed my baby sister!" She said. I smiled & told her that I missed her as well.
She smiled & started to drive. PARTYNEXTDOOR played lowly as my sister & I caught up on a few things.

"A party?? You goin' ?" Lani asked. "Yea.. Lani no." I said, watching her smile fade. "Come on Ajà, we already at the mall so.." she said trailing off.
I finally gave in & decided to let her ' help ' figure out my outfit for the party. We sat at the high counters, in the food court, eating our Chinese food.
"You know you gotta take my pictures, right?" I asked smiling. She smacked her lips, "I got you!"
Once we finished our food, we found a spot to take pictures..
