Before I even had time to realise the words had left my mouth, Leah had began making her way towards me. "What?" she whispered. I couldn't even bring myself to look directly at her, this is not how I wanted to tell her this. I begin to stutter as I quickly try to change the subject whilst still concentrating on not making eye contact with Leah. "i...it doesn't matter" I flustered. I hadn't noticed that Leah had made herself towards me until seeing her feet, still refusing to look at her. She slowly placed her index finger and thumb under my chin, gently lifting my head until our eyes were on level with one another. Without saying a word, she closed the gap in between us until her soft wet lips connected with mine. A rush of butterflies engulfed my body as I felt my legs begin to tremble. I tilted my head in the opposite direction to Leah's moving my lips to the rhythm of her own. I don't know exactly how long the kiss lasted, but I certainly didn't want it to end. Leah slowly pulled her lips away from mine and rested her head against my forehead, eyes now open locked on mine. "Maybe we should go" she whispered. "okay" I responded, slightly upset that we were now going to go our separate ways home until she took my hand and lead me out of the changing room back towards her car.
"Where are we going, Leah?" I questioned. Slightly confused as to why she was leading me towards her car. "I thought maybe we could go for a coffee" she responded; I nodded my head in agreement as I was happy to just be in her company. Throughout the car journey to the coffee shop we exchanged glances, unable to keep the smile of either of our faces. Maybe this could lead to us being together I thought to myself. Once we arrived at the coffee shop, Leah went to the counter to order us two hot chocolates as I found us a table in the corner. When she returned, there was a slight silence for a few moments, which didn't make me feel uncomfortable as I was just happy to spend some alone time with her. After taking a sip of her hot chocolate, Leah was the first to break the silence. "So... what now Charl?" She asked unable to keep a smile from appearing across her face. I gave a slight nervous giggle before deciding to be totally honest. "I do really like you Leah, like a lot. And after the kiss earlier it has confirmed even more so, just how much I do want to get to know you on a deeper level." I gave a slight sigh before continuing "I just want to make sure it is what we both want; I don't want to get hurt again." I finished. I didn't want to get into the whole conversation about my last relationship, but I wanted to assure her it was her that I wanted. As I began to get nervous at how she would react to this, Leah reached for my hand from across the table and intertwined our fingers together. "That's exactly what I want too Charlotte, lets take things slow and go on a few dates etc. But I just want you to know I feel the same, and I can't stop thinking about how I felt earlier when I kissed you." Hearing those words come out of Leah's mouth made me feel relaxed again and begin to continue enjoy being in her company.
We chatted some more whilst finishing our drinks, once we left to head home, Leah kindly offered to drop me back off at home and to pick me up tomorrow as my car was still at the training ground. After we said goodbye, she gave me a slight peck on my lips before I exited the car, it was nothing like our first kiss. But she still managed to give me butterflies by doing so.
