"Seriously, Natasha?" Yelena stood in the kitchen, narrowed eyes at her sister.

"What?" The red head feigned innocence, taking a sip from her mug.

"Don't play stupid, you're better than that."

"Oo, a compliment this early in the morning? Someone woke up on the right side of the bed. Or I did something right," the elder sister teased her further.

Yelena rolls her eyes, "hardly. I see you assigned y/n to be my partner?"

"Mhm." Natasha's hummed, taking another sip as her fiancé came up behind her, wrapping her arms around her waist. Nat's head turned slightly to greet her in a soft kiss.

"Morning, детка." The Sakovian mumbled.

Natasha laughed at her lovers half asleep state, "morning, baby."

Yelena stood impatiently waiting for Natasha to acknowledge her earlier complaint. Unfortunately for the young blonde, it seemed as though her older sister was grossly enthralled by the presence of her fiancé.

So, she stepped up to the counter, clearing her throat to get her sisters attention once again.

"Yes, Lena?" Now she was just trying to push her over the edge.

"Why the hell would you put me with y/n?!" The frustration seeping out. "You know how important this is to me."

"Tasha, why would you do that to your sister?" Wanda teased, sarcasm loud and clear.

"You know exactly why. Lena, she is one of the best agents we have. And she's a sweetheart. I don't know why you have an issue-"

"Because! She is always smiling, telling you to have a good day and baking things for people. Helping them do mind numbing tasks or watching their kitten. No one is that nice. No one cares that much about other people." She crosses her arms in a huff as she sits down. "How am I suppose to trust someone like that." It was completely rhetorical, so the pair didn't answer.

"Oh, Lena." She hated the sympathy that dripped from Wanda's voice. Like she didn't know that what she's gone through sucks and has clearly made it more difficult in life for her to let people in. She chose to ignore the comment.

"Plus! She always follows the rules without exception. I heard she stopped the agents in training from the bash on their first night, which is a total right of passage," she continued. "There's just too much perfection for her not to be hiding something."

Natasha takes her turn in ignoring some of Yelena's statements, "Y/n is the perfect partner for you, I promise. I'm not putting you two together as some form of torture. It's not a bad thing to follow the rules. I think it'll do you both some good. There's a lot more to y/n than you see."

"Yeah, some big secret like she's double crossing us or she's an alien or maybe y/n isn't even her real name! How much do we really know about her? I bet she's just waiting for her chance to break us."

"Lena.." Nat warned.

"Whatever."

"You never know Lena, this could be the start of a beautiful friendship," Wanda singsonged, a smirk playing behind her own cup of fresh brewed coffee.

Yelena sneered, wordlessly standing up, flipping the two women off as she walked away.

Wanda giggled, "okay, Tasha. Tell me the real reason you worked them together." The witch knew her lover better than to believe she told Yelena her only reasoning.
