"I can't fucking wait to get home and fall into a hot bath for five hours," Wanda collapses next to Nat, flinging her head back against the chair, ignoring the steaming shawarma in front of her.

Stuck on the image of Wanda in a tub? Same.

Nat avoids that image.. "you know you didn't have to wait for us."

"Ugh, I know. I thought I was hungry." She pushes the food around the plate, "now I'm too tired to eat let alone fly home."

Nat lets out a grunt, taking a large bite of her food as she was, in fact, very hungry. There was a pit in her stomach that needed to be filled.

She built up quite the appetite fighting the new, but still very ugly, aliens. It filled her daily need for action. Though, even with her superior stamina, she had a need only someone specific could satiate.

After swallowing down her latest bite, she allows her mind to flutter back to the image, the person, that has captured her whole attention.

The very person that distracted her enough she almost let the last stumbling alien zap her.

Not that anyone could blame her. Anyone else would have handled the situation much the same.

Just as she had shot down what she thought was the last disgusting space beast, she saw a group of firefighters bravely dousing out flames as quickly as the hose would allow.

Some ran from one building to the next.

She couldn't help but be astounded at the selflessness.

Sure, her and the team fight nasty creatures to save the world on an almost weekly basis, but, here they were, sacrificing themselves, pulling people from rumble and salvaging as much as they could while searching for the next crisis they could take on. And all without any super abilities or a promise of the best doctors to serve them when needed or a jet that would fly them to safety should the dangers escalate.

This was all just a fleeting thought, quickly replaced by an enrapturing sight: you.

A stranger to her in every sense of the word.

However.

She immediately felt it, that pull, that life altering shift. The shudder she was sure the whole team had to of felt.

Your outer jacket had been shed, your physique that had to be designed by the gods on display. Your muscles rippled every time you pushed down, performing CPR on a poor bystander unlucky enough to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

A crazy thought, but she was jealous.

The machines beeped to life, signaling your successful resuscitation of the person. The EMTs rushed to keep working on him as you hopped down.

She watched on in awe of you as you moved to the next demanding crisis, not wavering for a moment as the unexpected popped up.

The heart stopping moment; the flash of your smile she caught as you spoke to a child, getting down on one knee to give her a slightly crisp stuffed bunny. Her heart resumed its thrumming when you offered your hand, escorting her over to whom she assumed to be the child's parents.

That is what caused her almost mishap: the straggler with one arm already blown off, still fighting.

To her good fortune, her instincts were still looking out for her.
