"Tell me, what's on your mind?" Preeta asked as they walked slowly along the beach.

"Listen, I want to be direct. No beating around the bush... I want to be straightforward, and you just need to answer me. I..." Karan began, not looking at her. When he turned to face her, she was smiling, which confused him.

"You want to give this relationship a chance, don't you?" Preeta said, still smiling, causing Karan to look even more surprised.

"How did you know?" Karan asked, astonished that she had guessed exactly what he was about to say.

"I guessed. Besides, you weren't being as straightforward as you thought," Preeta teased, and he chuckled.

"Yeah, I know! But I really want to give our relationship a chance before making any decisions," Karan said, stopping to emphasize his point.

"If you want to give it a chance, you have to give it 100%. Stopping halfway won't get us anywhere," Preeta said, walking ahead slowly without turning back.

"I'm not going to stop halfway... just accept and support me," Karan said, catching up to walk beside her.

"I've always been ready to support you, and I still am," she said, making him smile and feel a pang of guilt.

"Don't feel guilty, Karan. I was just pointing out the facts. And if you start feeling guilty now, I'm not going to talk to you anymore," Preeta said with a cute expression, making him widen his eyes in surprise.

"Here I am talking about us, and you're threatening to stop talking altogether," Karan complained with a frown, and she laughed silently, walking a bit ahead.

"Okay, fine, wait," she stopped and held his hand.

"Don't act like a kid... tell me what's on your mind," she said, smiling. He stopped and turned to face her.

"As if you don't already know?" Karan said, frowning.

"Okay, I know... so, friends?" Preeta giggled a little, then asked seriously, extending her hand.

"Think it over... I'm..." Karan smirked, but she interrupted again.

"I'll leave if you keep acting so haughty!" Preeta said, irritated, frowning at him.

"Alright, alright..." Karan smiled and shook her hand.

"You're such a child!" he said, and she smiled and giggled.

"You'll realize tomorrow that you've brought a child into your home... who is now your friend," she said, and he pouted.

"Let's go, it's getting late... and stop making those faces," Preeta said, turning to go. He grabbed her arm.
