Are you prepared for the last one?

No, I promised to write 35 chapters in all, so it's not the end yet.

Destiny doesn't just bring two souls together; it weaves their paths, guiding them back to each other, no matter the years, no matter the distance. Love is never lost; it's only waiting for the right moment to be found again.

THEY WERE SIX YEARS OLD

Preeta's Pov:

"Mommy... can I go and play now?" I asked, clutching my doll close to my chest as I walked over to where Mumma was sitting on the sofa, completely immersed in her book.

She peered up at me, raising an eyebrow. "No. You pulled his cheeks so much yesterday that he's afraid to come play with you today."

I frowned, holding my doll tighter, and stood in front of her, searching for the right words. "But his cheeks are so chubby, I can't resist pulling them!" I protested, tilting my head innocently.

Mumma closed her book and set it aside, her lips twitching as if she wanted to smile. "Yeah? Anything else you'd like to say, missy?" she asked, pulling me closer by my tiny hands.

I straightened up as much as my little frame could manage. "I'll apologize to him," I said with the most serious tone I could muster.

"Good girl!" she said, her eyes softening. Then, to my surprise, she leaned down, pinched my cheeks gently, and patted them affectionately.

Unable to help myself, I grinned mischievously. "And then, I'll pull his cheeks again—lightly this time!" I giggled, twirling away before she could react.

"You naughty little girl! Come back here right now!" Mumma called after me, but I was already racing out of the room, my laughter ringing through the house like little bells.

When I reached the backyard, I froze in my tracks.

Everything was ruined.

My dollhouse lay in pieces, scattered haphazardly across the grass. My toys, once neatly arranged, were strewn about as if someone had thrown them with all their might. My precious tent house—the one I loved so much—stood crooked, leaning dangerously to one side like it might collapse at any moment.

Tears welled up in my eyes as I took in the mess. My lip quivered, and I hugged my doll tighter.

Desperately, I looked around, hoping someone would come to my rescue. My eyes scanned every corner of the backyard until I noticed movement behind the big mango tree.

Someone was there.

My tears dried up instantly, replaced by curiosity and determination. I tiptoed toward the tree, my small feet making almost no sound on the grass. My heart pounded as I reached the tree trunk, and with one swift motion, I peeked around the side.

"Karannnnnnn!" I yelled, startling him so badly that he fell backward onto the ground with a thud. His hands shot up to cover his ears as if my voice had physically struck him.

"You! I'm telling your mom what you did! Just wait and see how I destroy your toys and your superhero house in return!" I declared, pointing at him dramatically.
