She is a responsibility.

Karan's Pov:

As we walked into the shop, Preeta eagerly led the way, her excitement palpable. "What happened, Karan? Come on!" she urged, pulling me along. I couldn't help but wonder what I was even doing in a piercing shop.

"What am I supposed to do here?" I asked, confused.

"I'm getting my piercings done. Only then can we go somewhere else!" she explained, and I made an 'oh' face, realizing there was no escaping this.

I watched as she discussed the details with the guy who would be doing her piercing. "How many piercings are you planning to get?" I asked, still a bit distracted by my phone.

"Three... I mean two more above this one, and one up here," she said, pointing to different spots on her ear. My concern grew.

"Don't get so many done, Preeta... It'll hurt!" I couldn't hide the worry in my voice.

"Karan, I know it'll hurt for a week, but after that, I can wear my favorite pair of earrings!" she replied, her excitement undimmed. I sighed, knowing I was losing this argument.

Then, a guy came up and informed her, "Ma'am, the nose bead you wanted isn't available." My eyes widened. "Nose piercing?" I asked, surprised. This was news to me.

"Shh... I told you I wanted a silver bead. Okay, what other options do you have?" she asked the man, completely unfazed.

"Ma'am, we have gold and diamond," the man said, showing her the options.

"Do it with diamond," I suggested before I could think twice. Preeta looked at me, surprised.

"What? Why are you so surprised?" I asked, noticing her reaction.

"You mean you're okay with it?" she asked, excited and surprised.

"I have to be... You didn't even ask me before booking it," I frowned, feeling a bit left out of her decision-making process.

She grinned widely, pulling my cheeks and giving me a side hug. "Next time, I'll definitely ask you," she laughed at my pouty expression.

"If you hug me like this, don't ask me next time either," I teased, winking at her. She playfully hit my arm, pulling away with a mock angry face.

"Okay, fine, do what you want. It's your body, after all. No one has the right to say anything to you," I said, trying to be supportive, even though I was still a little worried.

"Don't give me that dialogue! The right time will come when you'll have the right to stop me from anything," Preeta said with a smile, and I couldn't help but feel happy about the possibility she hinted at.

The man returned with the beads and piercing gun. I could see that she wasn't scared at all, but I was the one feeling nervous.

After some time, her ear piercings were done, and now it was time for the nose piercing. Another guy came to do it, and she didn't even flinch. She looked at herself in the mirror, smiling wholeheartedly.
