In the quiet moments after the storm, the heart often faces its deepest fears, but love, in its truest form, never wavers-it fights, it heals, and it endures.

Karan's Pov:

Ankit and Priyanka were sitting on the chair, their faces tense and drawn, while I paced outside the room, waiting-no, begging-for that one doctor to come out and give me the news I desperately needed to hear. The mess inside my head was a storm, thoughts crashing against each other, each more terrifying than the last.

All I want is to see her fine now.

The people who are guilty of putting her in this state are dying to die now, as their condition is worse than any jail... and they know that their fate is sealed the day Preeta wakes up.

She will be the one to decide their punishment, and I'll stand by her decision. But there's one condition-no police. I don't trust the law in this country, where a woman can't walk freely on the streets without being stared at, judged, or worse. No one can be trusted; no city is safe.

What a woman needs can't be realized unless people change their mentality, teaching their sons to look at women with respect, not with lust or ill intentions.

I know how much I've been thinking about the security of every female employee, especially those working late at night. Cars have been arranged to drop them at their doorsteps, and our app notifies us the moment they reach home safely. I've never been involved in these things before, but now... now I can't ignore it.

My spiraling thoughts were interrupted when the door finally opened. The doctor stepped out, his expression unreadable.

"Mr. Luthra..." he began, his voice dragging me out of my turmoil.

"Doctor, is she fine now? Is everything positive? How-" My words rushed out in a panicked stream, desperate for answers.

"Calm down, Mr. Luthra," the doctor said, his voice steady. "I understand your anticipation, but let me speak."

"Karan, please shut your mouth and let him speak!" Ankit, ever the rational one, stood beside me, trying to keep me grounded.

"Ankit..." Priyanka's glare could cut through steel as she stepped in, her voice sharp. "Both of you, keep your fingers on your lips!"

The doctor chuckled, his gaze shifting between our faces. "Thank you, Priyanka. Now, I want to tell you her condition..."

He paused, and my heart stopped. What the hell is this?

"Is this your job?" I snapped, barely holding back the fear choking me. "To say half and take a halt and then scare the shit out of people?"

The doctor sighed, shaking his head. "Oh god... This isn't going to work with you guys. You obviously belong to a doctor's family!"

"What doctor's family?" Ankit, bless him, was still trying to keep up.

"Preeta is a doctor, and you're her family, right?"

"Yeah... we are her family... I'm her husband-now can I know my wife's condition?" My voice was raw with irritation and fear.

The doctor's eyes softened as he looked at me. "Preeta is fine. She's good. We just need to run a few tests to make sure her health is stable and determine when she might open her eyes..." He took a deep breath, his tone lighter. "You scared me there, Mr. Luthra."
