Preeta's Pov:
"Ahhhh... my head... oh God, what's happening?" I winced, holding my head tightly as I sat up in bed. The pain throbbed relentlessly, making me flinch.
"Urghhh... everything feels like it's spinning," I murmured, glancing around. My eyes darted back and forth, blinking rapidly as I tried to steady myself.
"It's not you, it's your head that's spinning," a voice cut through my haze. I turned to see him standing there with a glass of water. His tone was casual, but his words only confused me further.
"You were drunk last night... that's why. Here, have this; you'll feel better," he said, walking toward me without any expression on his face. Drunk? Me? No way!
"I swear, I didn't drink! I really didn't!" I said quickly, my voice laced with innocence. I don't drink—I never have!
"Don't give me justifications," he snapped, his tone firm. "I know you didn't drink on purpose. So stop thinking so much and just drink this water."
The sternness in his voice left me no room to argue. Nervously, I gulped down the water, hoping it would ease my pounding headache.
"I... I didn't trouble you too much, did I?" I asked hesitantly, glancing at him. My voice barely came out as I waited anxiously for his answer.
"No, not at all... at least not compared to Priyanka," he replied with a sigh. His words surprised me, and despite my condition, I couldn't help but giggle softly. But I stopped myself quickly, unsure if laughing was even appropriate right now.
"Seriously, though... what did I do?" I blurted out. The curiosity was killing me. I needed to know what happened last night.
"Honestly, nothing dramatic. You didn't cause a scene or create any problems... you just turned into a child for a while, which was fine," he said nonchalantly.
Not dramatic? That didn't sound right. "That's not convincing!" I protested, shaking my head. There had to be more to it.
"Alright, alright... now, go get ready. Don't you have to go to the hospital?" he said suddenly, clearly trying to change the subject.
"Nooo, not today!" I grinned, thrilled at the thought. "No surgeries, no appointments... finally, I get a day off!"
"Good. Then go take a bath and come back. I'm working from home today anyway," he said, picking up the empty glass.
"Why did you take the day off?" I asked, pulling out my clothes from the wardrobe. His slight smile as he looked at me made me curious.
"There wasn't any meeting scheduled today," he explained. Then he asked, "What do you want for breakfast? Tell me, and I'll order it."
