(Lola's POV)
"Lola!" I heard Matt call out
He ran into the living room, smiling widely
"Dad!" Frederick said, covering my exposed legs
Matts eyes widened and he quickly turned around, covering his eyes from me
"Sorry! sorry! Sorry! I-I didn't see anything" he raised his right hand up in the air and said "I swear" while cover his eyes with his left hand
I chucked and got up, pulling down Frederick's oversized shirt
"It's alright" I said, putting my hand over his shoulder
Matt whirled around and wrapped his arms around my waist
He lifted me up in the air and squeezed my body tightly
"I've missed you" he told me, holding me tightly
I pulled away and took a look at his face
His beard had gotten thicker and his face was slimmer than before
"I missed too" I giggled
"Okay dad, you can let her go now" Frederick told him
When I turned around, I saw Frederick standing tall, with his arms crossed in front of his chest
"Relax, he was just greeting me" I said, giving him a look, whilst still having one arm, wrapped around the older version of Frederick
"Yeah Frederick...relax" Matt taunted his son
Frederick rolled his eyes and reached out to me grab my arm as pull me away from his father
He took a deep breath and raised an eyebrow to his dad, once he had finally pulled me over to him
"What are you doing here dad, we were in the middle of something...important" he smirked down at me
I felt heat rise to my face, as the words left his mouth
"I can tell" Matt smiled, wiggling his eyebrows in my direction
I groaned, hiding my face in Frederick's chest, peaking out, just a little
"Alright, alright, I'll leave. Leave you two, to some alone time" Matt winked, walking over to us
"Dad" Frederick grumbled
"I'm leaving, I'm leaving" he put his hands up in the air "but first-" he said, wrapping his arms around both Frederick and I "Let me just tell you both, how happy I am to see you together, once again. I know that what the two of you are going through is very difficult, especially you Lola, but trust me when I tell you, that Frederick is a good man, and he will make you very happy" he told me, smiling widely
Matt placed his hand on my cheek, caressing my face softly
"I know. He and I will be very happy together" I smiled at him
"Does that mean that you still-"
"Want to get married? Yes, yes I do" I smiled, looking back at the grey eyed hunk behind me
"Are you sure?" He asked me, with wide eyes
"As long as you do...I mean Sasha also said he was interested" I smiled, raising an eyebrow
All trace of humor had left, Frederick's face and a frown had appeared on his face
"That's not funny" he said sternly
"I-It's kinda funny" his dad said, from behind me
I covered my mouth, smiling widely
"So?" I asked him
Frederick took a deep breath and then smiled
"Wait here" he told me and disappears into his room
I turned around and walked over to his dad
"What do you think he is getting?" I asked
All Matt did was smile at me
Frederick had told me earlier that Matt was 37. I was surprised, because he didn't look it at all. He was very handsome....older, but handsome. Though his age did not interfere with how many woman were interested in him
Frederick told me that ever since Matt was married with his mother, Karmen, woman would try and get close to Matt. I couldn't blame them, Matt was a wonderful man and very attractive, with money, but after Karmen was diagnosed with cancer, Frederick's father stopped working all together and after she died, he turned to alcohol, to relieve himself from the pain
Frederick had also told me that, whist he was married, he had many affairs, which was why lossing Karmen, was so hard on him
A few months later, Frederick was kidnapped and everything went to hell
It wasn't until a couple of years ago, that Matt started living his life once again, which made me happy
Whatever he had done in his past, should not have defined his future
It wasn't until I heard a loud smash, that I pulled away from Matt and started walking towards Frederick's bedroom
"I'm okay!" He called out and jogged out of his room
He had a dopy smiled on his face as he walked towards me
He once again took a deep breath and stood infront of me
"I was going to do this somewhere else, maybe a restaurant or something, with flowers and food and maybe some chocolate, but you said yes and I can't wait any longer" Frederick babbled, breathing heavily
Next thing I knew, he was down on one knee, holding out something for me
"Lola Gravett, I know that what we are going through is not easy and I know that things are very confusing, that is why I won't promise you that what ever is to come will be simple, I will however promise you that whatever may come for us, we will face it together. I will be by your side, every step of the way. I will love you and cherish you and make sure that nothing bad happens to you. Lola Gravett...will you marry me?" He asked, sounding out of breath, as if he had run a mile
Frederick held out a black box, inside, was a beautiful diamond ring, placed, right in the middle
Tears, slowly dripped from my eyes, staining my skin
I held out my hand and nodded
"Yeah, yeah, I-I do" I stuttered
Frederick slipped the ring on to my slims fingers and then squeeze my hand tightly, bring it up to his lips and placing a soft kiss over my knuckles
He then stood up onto his feet, hovering over me and placed one of his hands over my left cheek, bringing his soft lips down to mine, molding them perfectly together
It wasn't until we heard the soft click of the door closing, that Frederick and I let go for one another and turned around
Matt was gone, but I knew that he was very happy for the two of us. Now all I had to do was tell my mother
Then all happiness was gone and my heart stopped
My mom!
