(Lola's POV)
It was 4 in the morning. I lay in my bed, looking up at the blank ceiling above me.
I, Lola Gravett, was getting married in six hours. I Lola Gravett, was going to be, Mrs. Grey in six hours. I was going to marry the most wonderful man in six hours.
My god how time flew by. I just couldn't manage to close my eyes and just sleep. It was what I wanted but couldn't manage to bring myself to do. The nerves running through my body wouldn't allow me to do so.
Sleep Lola! Sleep god damn it! But no matter how many times I demanded my body to shut off and leg sleep consume me, the more it twisted and turned. Just six more hours...six more hours and then my whole life would change.
The quiet knock on my door, I received thankfully. I sat up in my bed and waited for the door the to creek open. It didn't.
"Mom?" I asked, getting out of bed and walking towards my door.
I open the door and looked out, but there was no one there. Instead there was a small box sitting at the front step with my bedroom door. I looked around the hallways but realize they were empty. I lean down and picked up the box it was decorated in the white ribbon soft and smooth. I looked around once more and once I was sure there was no one there, I turned around and closed my bedroom door.
I sat down on my bed feeling it sink from my weight. I took hold of the small box and shook it once and then again and then once more. There was no sound, nor was the box heavy. I once again shook the box, just to make sure there was nothing in there, then I pulled apart the ribbon and lifted the small box open. Removing the lid, it revealed a small piece of paper folded in the center. I grabbed a letter and opened it.
Before I got even a word in, the sound of a steady click came from my window. At first I thought maybe it was a branch or something, but then when the sound continued, I couldn't help but get up and look. As I neared the window I saw a shadow standing on the other side of my sidewalk. I pulled open my blinds and open the window only to see Frederick standing with a handful of pebbles in his right hand.
"What are you doing?" I giggled as I watched him near my window "aren't you supposed to be in Las Vegas?" I smiled, watching as he climbed up my tree and then landed on my roof. He gracefully stood up and walked up the tiled roof until he was kneeling right in front of me.
"I missed you." He whispered, stepping one leg onto my bed room and then another until he was standing in front of me with his arms wrapped around my waist. His chest pushed against mine as he leaned down and caught my lips between his.
"Stop, stop, stop." I laughed, pushing him away. "It's bad luck to see the bride before the wedding."
"Oh my dear Lola, I didn't take you for the superstitious type" he smiled, pushing my towards my bed until he was on top of me.
"I'm usually not, but I want everything tomorrow to be perfect. The last thing that I need is for something to go wrong. Besides I have a present for you that's going to blow you away." I smiled, wondering if I should just tell him right now. He was going to be a dad, I was going to be a mom. We were going to start a family. It was everything I've ever wanted.
"I don't think your present is gonna blow me away as much as my present is going to blow you away." He said, reaching up above me and then freezing when he saw the letter on my bed.
"What's this?" He asked, taking the paper in his hand.
"I don't know...somebody left it on my door. You came before I could read it." I told him, watching as he folded it back up and tossed to the side.
"How weird...you can read it later, right now I just want you with me." He whispered in my ear, his blonde stubble barely skimming the skin on my ear.
I shivered, watching as a smirk grew on his sexy face. He loved what he did to my body...I could tell.
It was something that I felt I would never get over nor would I get used to. But then I realized, after tomorrow I would have the rest of my life to prove myself right.
(Authors note)
I'm a horrible person, I know. I'm so sorry. It's been forever since I've updated and I'm sure that most of you are over it by now, but I was looking over my messages and I remember this Woman who contacted me and asked when it was that I would update the last two chapters of Mrs. Gray and I told her soon and I realize that that was over year ago and I am so so so so very sorry. So here's this chapter. It short but next chapter is the last chapter for this book so it will be much much much longer. Along with the first chapter of the third and final book. So I'm excited publish that.
