(Lola's POV)
I couldn't actually sleep after Simone had left. I was having trouble figuring out, how exactly I was going to tell my mother that I was getting married and that I wanted to leave her with a strange nurse
I had come to the conclusion that Simone was right, but I still felt horrible. My mom was the only direct family I had...she was my mom
So I waited...I waited until the sun came up and the nurses started doing their rounds
I quickly got out of my room and closed the door behind me, only to be knocked down on the floor
"Oh, I'm sorry babe" I heard Freddy's voice
I looked up and my mouth dropped
"What the hell happened?" I asked, looking up at his bruised face. A dark blue purpleish-black color had developed under his right eye. There was a slight cut on his upper lip and a small blue bruise on the corner of his lip
His hand was outstretched to me, expecting me to take it, but I got up on my own and slowly reached up to place my hand on his bruised face
I didn't completely place my hand over his bruised skin, instead I just lightly caressed the corner of his mouth, with my thumb
"What the hell happened to you?" I asked, my voice soft and smooth
Frederick smiled as best he could, but I knew he was in pain
"Fre-" I didn't had enough time to finish saying his name, before Frederick leaned down and connected his lips with mine
The tender skin around the corner of his mouth, tasted of copper, it was blood
His soft plump lips, slowly pressed against my own, which weren't nearly as perfect and I could feel his tense shoulders relax. His large hands wrapped around my waist, pulling my lower body, closer to his warm and tall figure
"Mmhm" I heard a gental voice behind me
Frederick slowly pulled away, resting his forehead against my own and slowly rested his hands on either side of my waist
I turned my head and got a better view of the woman that had interrupted my battered fiancé and I
It was Simone, Sasha, and my mother, who wore a content and tired smile on her face
The dark circles under her eyes, had darkened even more. Her hands were resting on the arms of the wheelchair she was in, and her chest was rising and falling slowly
"It's about damn time!" She huffed out, looking over at Frederick
He smiled widley, stepping around me and standing at my side
"Hello Mrs. Gravett, it's good seeing you again" Frederick said, polite as ever, with a killer boyish smile on his face, that made my knees weak
"Call me Sam, there is no need for formalities. I've been told you are quite special to my daughter and if you're special to her, then you are worth gold to me" my mother smiled, getting flustered by his charming features
Frederick laughed loudly, filling the room with his musical voice
I saw Simone smiling widley, as she stood behind my moms wheelchair
"But what happened to your face?" Simone asked, looking up at Frederick with curiosity and concern in her eyes
Frederick frowned his eyebrows and shook his head
"Just a misunderstanding" he smiled, keeping his eyes on my mother and Simone
I heard Sasha scoff. When I looked up, he didn't keep my gaze locked with his for long. Instead his lips frowned and he turned to look at my mother, who was as confused as I was
