[Skeppy's pov]

-Day 1-

I was talking to my sister when she mentioned a new bakery just opened in town, in the small corner building of downtown, right where the old dvd shop used to be.

I thought nothing of it other than 'oh cool, new local business'. We continued to talk, disregarding the new store.

We finished our phone call shortly after, and I went to go work. I make YouTube videos for a living, mostly with Minecraft.

//time skip: 1 hour later//

I finish recording and editing the video, setting it upload the next day. My fingers hurt from all the typing and clicking, so I decide to shut down for the day.

I walk downstairs and sit on the couch, turning on the tv. I decide to scroll through Netflix to see if there's any interesting shows or movies, and I got nothing. I check Hulu, nothing. HBOmax? Nada. Disney+, zilch.

Ok, time to give up on that idea.

I realize I'm getting hungry, and get up to walk to the kitchen, I look around, but I don't have anything easy to make right now and I don't feel like cooking.

I just decide it's best to go out and get something.

I put on shoes and a coat, pet Rocco goodbye, and head out the door, grabbing my keys on the way.

I open the door to my car and hop in, starting the engine. I haven't quite decided where to go, I guess I'll just drive downtown and look at what they have there.

It takes about 15 minutes to get there. Downtown is just a few streets of old buildings. Stuff like restaurants that have been here since the 30s, antique stores, the old movie theater, a small museum, and more.

I walk down a few blocks, noting a couple that looked good at the time that I could come back to if I didn't find anything better.

I get to the last downtown street and walk through. I get the the end, and notice the new bakery on the corner.

I thought for a second, and decided to give it a shot. Something sweet sounded good right now anyway.

I looked both ways and crossed the street, walking in and hearing a bell ding as I opened the door. It was fairly empty, just a few people sitting around and chatting.

The bakery was nicely decorated with live plants, pastel walls, and nice wooden furniture that almost look handmade.

A cute man with long hair and glasses stood at the counter, surrounded by coffee machines, a soft drink machine, and a few heated containers.

The counter in front of him was made of glass, and you could see donuts, cupcakes, cookies, fudge, and other confections on display. And there was a door on the right seemingly leading to the kitchen.

I walked up to the counter and the man greeted me with a smile!

"Good morning sir! What would you like to order?"

I looked up at the menu, scanning the assortment of coffees, soups, breads, and pastries.

I settle on an iced tea and and chocolate glazed donut with sprinkles. He notes down my order in his machine and gives me my total.

"Would you like to become a rewards member? You get discounts and coupons on your orders and will also be notified of events."

Eh, why not? I type my email into the machine and my phone buzzes letting me know it went through.
