I watched Kai struggled to climb up the mountain from the of the monastery, thinking about the whole "chosen ninja" thing. Was he really the destined ninja? Was my dad mistaken? Yep, definitely not me overthinking again.

Kai pulled himself on to a rock and complained, 'How long is this training gonna be?'

'Patients. You will be ready when you are ready, not a minute sooner.'Father hummed as he stroked his beard.

As I zoned out, I didn't realize he was finally here, and definitely did not realize that I was staring at Kai this whole time, until his annoying voice snapped me out of my trance, 'Umm, hello?' Kai said while waving his hands in front of my face, 'Whatever your name is, I know I'm handsome but there really no need to stare.' He said with a cocky smirk. Gosh, he is so arrogant!

'Oh shut up Kai!' I said smacking his hand away. ' And the name is Y/N. Could have just asked you know?'

I walked to the giant wooden doors of my home, pushed them open and walked inside. Finally, home sweet home.

Immediately, I went to my favorite spot in the world, the tiny terrace on the roof that's just above my room. It's my own little world. Up here, I can do whatever I want, whenever I want, and NEVER disturbed.

'A monastery? You expect me to learn to fight in a place of peace?!' Kai yelled. Scratch that, I was never disturbed, before he came.

'Gosh! You just can't stay quiet, can you?' I rolled my eyes, 'Does he really need to stay here?' I said gesturing to father.

'I'm right here!' Kai yelled annoyed.

'Quiet!' Father yelled, 'As I was saying, you are not here to fight, but train...'He flicked the small dragon over, revealing a secret red button, and hit it with his staff. He gave an apologetic smile as the dragon began to rise. Oh no, this can not be good... Some sort of equipment? rose along with it and soon the whole yard is covered with weapons swinging all over the place.

'Woahh' Kai whispered smiling like a silly child. 'Are you going to teach me that spinny thing you did?'

'WHAT? WHEN? HOW? HUH?' was the only thing that came out of my mouth.

Father chuckled awkwardly as I sent him a death stare.

Suddenly, Kai jumped onto one of the wooden beams and posed into a crane, I think?

'Oh no.' Father muttered as the beam starts to sink.

My eyes widen as Kai was shoot straight up the air. Then he started coming closer, and closer, and... wait, oh no...

He crashed straight into me making both of us fall down onto the floor with a thud. Kai landed on me and boy was he heavy. 'Uhh, GET OF ME, NOW!' I said pushing him off me.

'Hehe, sorry...' Kai muttered, and he's blushing?

'Complete the course before I finish my tea, then we will see if you're ready.' Father said then sipped his tea.

'But I didn't even start!' Kai shouted, right next to my ear.

'First you try to crush my bones, then you try to pierce my eardrums, what's wrong with you?' I muttered climbing down the ladder that leads to the inside of my room.

'What did you say?' Kai said, clearly angry, very angry.

'Sorry can't hear you!' I shouted, closed the entrance and locked it.

'Hey! How am I supposed to get down now?' I heard Kai shout through the door.

'Well, figure it out! You do have a brain right?' I shouted back. Maybe this won't be so bad after all, he is quite entertaining...

A loud thud came from outside, and I knew my hopes of this being tolerable have disappeared.

I sped walk outside and saw Kai on the floor, face flat against the floor. 'Really? Jumping of the roof? That's the best you can do? Guess you don't have a brain after all.' I muttered.

Just then father came out, 'What is going on here?' he said with his usual judgmental voice. Like he didn't build a whole entire training obstetrical in our yard.

'She locked me out! I had no choice but to jump!' Kai complained, pointing his finger towards me.

'Firstly, there is literally another ladder right behind the tower there. Secondly, you could have just opened the lock using the key on the table. And lastly, it is rude to point fingers.' I said twisting his finger.

'Ow! Ow ow!' Kai gasped. What a baby, I'm not even using my full strength.

'Y/N!' Father shouted my name.

'Oh don't you start this, you still need to explain this.' I said pointing at the training equipment, staring straight at him.

He chuckled awkwardly and walked away.

'Wow, even your father is scared of you.' Kai said pulling his hand away from me.

'Well, he has a body of a old man but on occasion, the spirit of a child. It's just me and him around here so I must stop him from doing silly things.' I chuckled and shook my head, remembering the time he went on a crazy roller coaster, despite my warnings, and ended up puking all over the place.

'I'm so sorry, I had no idea that your mom is...' Kai said quietly, looking at me with pity in his eyes.

'Oh don't you give me that look.' I gave him a glare, 'Besides, I never really knew my mother...'

I had to be forced to grow up quickly, to not only take care of myself but also my father. Now that I've thought about it, I never really had much of a fun childhood, made me wonder, what if she was here, would I be a totally different person?

'Look, I know what it feels like. Forced to grow up? My parents died when I was still a child. Had to take care of my sister.' Kai put his hand on my shoulder.

'Thanks, Kai.' I smiled at him. 'But if you tell anyone I told you that, you'll regret it.' I playfully glared at him, making both of us laugh. Maybe this won't be so bad after all.
