Destiny - RenHyuck FF

Part 9

Johnny and Taeyong were minding their own business and slowly eating their way through the gigantic pile of pancakes Mrs Lee had left them behind for breakfast when Donghyuck returned to the house.

The two men watched as the younger walked in and tripped over his own feet, nearly fell over and ran into the closest wall face first before calling out in concern.

"Hyuck?"

The youngest seemingly snapped out of his daze and quickly made a beeline across the living room to the kitchen where his cousins still stuffed their faces without a care in the world.

"Did you just come home?"

"Hyung! Renjun, he-he's a-"

"An omega. You slept over at the Dream house." Taeyong said after sniffing the air as if confirming his suspicion making the youngest look at him in surprise.

"H-how do you know?"

"Well for starters you smell like him and everyone knows that Renjun often sleeps over at that place to escape Jisung's nightly scenting."

Donghyuck nodded along with the older before his head snapped to his other cousin feeling betrayed by the lack of reaction.

"You knew about it too?! I totally embarrassed myself!"

"Not my problem." Johnny shrugged and continued sipping his coffee totally unbothered by the dramatic younger.

"I was thinking about sending Mark over with some pancakes knowing how little Renjun eats if he's left unsupervised but I guess it's best if I go."

"Go where?" A raspy voice made the three turn towards the sleepy samoyed that walked over and sat down at the table.

"To bring food to Renjunie."

"Ahh... I heard from Jisung yesterday that his doc took him off his meds and forbade Jjun to use scent blockers too. He was apparently very upset about this change and refused to eat last night too."

"Is he sick?" Johnny finally seemed to take interest in the conversation and asked his cousin curiously.

"He just had trouble with his wolf who's just as stubborn apparently after presenting rather late so he was on different suppressants and calming meds."

"Mhmm... Jisung is worried that he'd end up in the ER once more now that his wolf is free again." Jeno added and a long moment of silence followed his statement while Johnny and Donghyuck let all the information sink in.

"So that's why he avoids people?"

"Partially, but it's more because he is still very sensitive to strong and mixed scents so he just doesn't feel comfortable in crowds."

Donghyuck nodded and spaced out again remembering the calm expression on the shorter's face while he slept

Renjun was calmly floating atop of the pool on an inflatable watermelon slice when the Lee cousins and Jaemin arrived sometime in the afternoon looking surprised at his presence.

Jisung was chilling on one of the sunbeds and playing music on his bluetooth speaker while Chenle just changed into swimming clothes before running up and jumping into the pool splashing everyone nearby.

"How's the water?"

"Perfect!"

"Is someone else here?" Jaemin asked as he sniffed around the air smelling something burnt.

"Yangyang's in the kitchen trying to cook." The omega answered before he saw the mentioned male walk out with his phone in hand.

"Hello, I'd like to order one mild and one spicy hotpot for the Dream house. Can it be done in an hour and delivered? Thanks!"

The man pulled the phone away from his ear after speaking everything quickly into it and the others could hear the angry shouting on the other end of the line claiming that they were not a restaurant before he cut the line.

"Did he just call Kun instead of a restaurant?" Donghyuck looked at the others in disbelief before they confirmed that that was exactly what just happened.

"Yang has made it his mission to annoy Kun until the older cracks and uses every opportunity to bother the poor man."

"Yeah, but I do agree with him on Kun's hotpot being better than the one from restaurants so I support you." Renjun threw finger guns at the beta who was retrieving a ball so he and Chenle could play until food arrives.

"How're you feeling, Jjun?" Mark was the first to bring up the topic that worried all of them and made them come out this early after hearing that the omega wasn't holed up in his room for once.

"Wet?"

"I- that's not what I meant"

"Argh! Now you ruined the mood because you reminded me of it. Thank you very much, Mork!"

"Hey! Why are you getting angry at me now?"

"Ugh, stupid Mork. Can't you see he doesn't want to talk about it?"

"Wha-? Since when are you taking his side, Lee Donghyuck?!"

Donghyuck snorted and stood up dramatically before walking back to the house to retrieve something cool to drink...and cool his head.

Why can he not stop staring at the omega? His wolf seems to keep stealing glances at the beautiful man and Renjun dares to look like that?! Wet hair and clothes sticking to his body?

"I swear I could make out some faint lines of abdominal muscles trough his shirt." His wolf growled and this made redness spread on the tan alpha's cheeks immediately.

"Why even would you stare at Renjun's abs?"

"Should I have stared at his lips instead like you did?" The alpha asked which made his human counterpart choke on the cola he tried to drink, cursing the wolf inside his head for exposing him like that.

"You okay?"

The voice made the alpha startle and let out something akin the mixture of a shriek and a choked up cough as he recognized the voice, reaching out for the kitchen top to keep himself up while coughing furiously.

Renjun looked worried and quickly opened the fridge to get some of his lemon water and offer it to the dying alpha after his coughing fit stopped.

Donghyuck only showed an okay sign and gulped down the cool drink he received before sighing and internally cringing for embarrassing himself... again.

As expected the omega started laughing at his clumsiness and teased him about getting scared easily although none of the things were meant honestly and were just his attempts to playfully alleviate the discomfort he sensed in the other's scent.

And it worked since Donghyuck was a competitive person and wouldn't allow people to joke on his behalf without slapping them back with his own witty remarks and absurd facts.

The older smiled gently when he noticed the alpha's mood improve and the bitter undertone of his warm scent disappear, the mischievous glint return to his deep chocolate orbs and his heart involuntarily skipped a beat.

The omega didn't realize it then but he too had been looking forward to the company of his once sworn enemy now that the male seemed to have outgrown his annoying habits.

Renjun facepalmed as the alpha had just started his childish antics again, cursing himself for thinking the other grew up and would finally behave more normal.

The next thing everyone knew was Donghyuck screeching as he ran for his life followed by a fuming little omega holding a spatula ready the spank the living hell out of the younger.
