Part 10

[D-3 days until the official celebration party for grandma Lee]

All Neo youngsters were summoned to the community centre where three older omegas fussed about the clothes for the big event.

As much as everyone could decide what they wore for the banquet this was something only the three omega ladies had a say in.

Renjun sat between Ten, Kun and Taeil who served as a shield from the group of alphas that made up majority of the others present.

One of the characteristics of the Neo pack that made them strong too was the concentration of alpha wolves and the high chances of having alpha offspring as well.

Within the pack omegas are treated with the utmost care as the minority and would have more say in choosing partners than the rest.

The four males happen to also be the mother figures of their closest small friend groups except for Kun and Ten who share the burden of babysitting their kids, very understandable once you meet the said kids.

This occasion was considered important for several reasons apart from celebrating the new elder.

It was set to be held at the next full moon which is the time when their human and wolf sides are most in sync and also the time mates usually recognise eachother.

For that the omega ladies had decided to fit every person's clothes to the colour of their wolves which is why there was a huge variety of garments inside the room.

The celebration would be attended by the younger and unmated wolves of their allied packs as well so it was a good reason to dress up.

"How do they know what our wolves are like though?"

Jisung looked genuinely confused when he was told about the concept hugging himself in a way to protect himself from the three ladies.

"Umm... they'll ask you? Or maybe they received a list from the elders since our files do contain that information, it's added once we present."

The boy nodded while his friend explained still a bit unsure about how to feel, not used to reveal much about his inner wolf yet.

"Come on kids, split up into three groups and let's start the measuring and fitting right away!"

Donghyuck felt a little exposed and uncomfortable when he had measuring tape wrapped around most of his body parts as the person writing the results into a notebook for the alterations was none other than Renjun.

The omega got chosen as the helper for his group and diligently scribbled down the numbers the older omega told him to after precisely measuring everything.

The other guys waiting by the side couldn't understand the need for such fuss yet didn't dare to complain in case the lady got upset and made them wear something ridiculous.

"Okay, done! You can go to Renjunie and select the colour sample looking closest to your wolf's furr and attach it to the measurements."

The alpha nodded and nearly ran away to take a seat beside Jeno who was trying to choose between two options that looked the same to the younger.

"Yah, why are you taking this so seriously? They will only use this as a rough reference so pick whatever is the slightest similar."

Donghyuck advised and scanned the samples before reaching for a darker reddish brown and handing it over to the omega.

"It's almost like your hair colour..." He heard the shorter mumble to himself and smiled a little noticing how the other knew that even without looking up.

He was one of those whose hair colour changed after presenting and became more similar to his wolf's, just like how under his cousin's brightly dyed hair his own light grey strands lay hidden.

The whole ordeal lasted long enough for some to fall asleep but Renjun kept himself busy as he was up last and couldn't oversleep it.

Maybe it was because he was an omega or his request to wear slightly loose clothes that he was spared from detailed measuring and only had the basic sizes taken.

[D-2 days]

Renjun was with the other omegas making traditional beaded necklaces and bracelets for their outfits, something their pack always wears on moon greeting festivals.

It's usually the job of omegas to make them for their mates but since he's not mated yet he'll have to do it for the other un-mated wolves together with Kun.

For an artistic soul like him this task is nothing and he quickly finishes a bunch of accessories attracting the attention of older omegas who were taking their time with the one or two pieces they needed to make.

Meanwhile the other wolves were scattered around the neighborhood each tasked with a different thing for the day from mowing the grass in the park to decorating the big hall of the community building.

Jisung was sitting on a bench outside of the said building with a pout on his face after being shooed out so he wouldn't accidentally destroy something while inside.

"Can I just go help Renjun-hyung? I'm sure he wouldn't kick me out just because I'm a little clumsy sometimes." He asked one of the elders and after receiving a reluctant nod happily ran away towards the place he knew the omegas would be at.

The older alphas smiled at him affectionately and wished their friends good luck for dealing with this overgrown pup and him not causing too much damage.

[D-1 day]

Donghyuck was dangling from his bed upside down deep in thought after the weekly call with his mother and her lecturing.

He didn't really plan to stay back here too long since he still has one year of university to finish and has to get ready for the upcoming semester in time but now he remembers how nice it was being around the guys.

His mother on the other hand wanted him to find his mate as soon as possible and stop wasting his time as she liked to call his gaming sessions.

She has always been like that as she's the youngest child among her siblings and got settled with her mate early in life, wishing the same for her firstborn along with a litter of pups.

Donghyuck and his mom were always very close which is probably partially because of the rather small age gap and the similar mental age of the two as both are loud, dramatic and impulsive divas.

He was thinking about what if's and about the upcoming celebration with a heavy heart as if he knew deep inside that something big would happen.
