What should've happened

Chapter 19

As they arrive at Diagon Alley Theseus tries to run off, too excited to wait, as expected the Alley is filled with families getting early school supplies for their children. Gellert grabs Theseus by the back of his jacket "do not run off Theseus there are too many people here." Gelert kept looking around the alley, there were some glares at them but not many considering Britain ministries that are too stubborn for change. Albus smiles a bit at the craziness going on around the shops and brings them to the bookstore "Flourish and Blotts first." Albus gives Newt to Gellert and takes Theseus to look for his school books, Gellert goes up to the second level since it was less crowded.

Newt was holding on tightly to Gellert and looking around the store at the books. Gellert was rocking him and looking at some books to see if any of them seemed entertaining to him, he picked up a book and opened it to read a small bit. Gellert smiles as Newt puts his hands on the book "Newt, apu is trying to read this" Gellert says this with a slight laugh in his voice, not really annoyed at his youngest for wanting his attention. Gellert looks up at the four year old as he whines, "Mi az, Newt?" the young man says quietly and looks around for what would be bothering him.

Newt tries to reach for a shelf "mouse, mouse!" he keeps trying to reach for it. Gellert smirks a bit and gently picks up the small animal, causing some people around them to scream, giving it to Newt. Gellert looks at the stairs as he sees Albus quickly coming up the stairs "hello love" he walks over, watching Newt with the mouse to make sure he doesn't drop it "what are you running for?"

Albus had heard the scream and ran up the stairs knowing Gellert had gone up there, he didn't know what happened and his mind immediately went to the worst. He looks up as he gets upstairs and sees Gellert completely fine and holding a happy Newt "There was screaming." he then sees the Mouse Newt was holding "oh, where did you find that friend Newt?" he goes over to them.

             Newt points to the shelf and Gellert hums "She was crawling along the shelf, people can be so jumpy sometimes."  The blond shoots a charming smile at Albus before he says something about the mouse. He kisses Albus' cheek and looks down to find Theseus, seeing he got all his books he heads down with Albus to pay for them.

As they walk further down the Alley Newt starts to whine "daddy, apu...zajos!" He tried to cover his ears but it didn't help the noise. Gellert hums, kisses Albus' cheek "I'm going to find a quiet place to sit and calm Newt down, and to be honest the noise is getting to me also, are you ok alone?"

Albus smiles "yes we'll be fine alone for a bit, both of you go calm down, try further down since there are more non-school related shops down there" he watches as Gellert walks away "and do not take my son into knockturn Alley Gellert!"he shouts after him in a stern voice.

Gellert finds that the leaky cauldron was not as busy as the alley it hides and sits down in a corner with newt, rubbing the boys back. He starts humming softly to help Newt calm down more, it was a lullaby he always sang to Newt putting him to bed when Albus wasn't there. As Newt calms down Gellert gets some juice for him and helps him drink it, making sure no one seems like a threat in the bar. He kisses Newt's head gently when the toddler lays it back down on his shoulder "Ist es Nickerchen Bärchen?" He transfigures his jacket into a blanket to wrap around the boy, making sure he's comfortable. He keeps an eye out around them as Newt sleeps on him, making sure his son is safe.

After a bit he gets up, casting a silencing charm around the toddlers head so he can't hear anything and walks around outside, getting tired of sitting. He catches a hidden alleyway and goes down it, keeping a tight grip on Newt since it was dark in it. He had a feeling if Albus found him wandering around down there with Newt he would be pissed but the area was intriguing. He goes into a store and looks at the relics in there, some of them cursed and others just morbid memorabilia. Gellert hums and picks up a pendent, scanning it for a curse and not finding any and he pays for it.
